Three 4G Payg Sim Card With Free Data Pre-Loaded Trio Data SIM Pack 12 GB
12GB Preloaded PAYG Trio Data Sim from Three
Lasts for 1 year from first use + 4G Speed
Use in 18 different countries with no extra charges
Trio Sim Format (Standard, Micro & Nano Sim all in one)
Use in any unlocked or 3 Network device (Tablet, Mobile Wifi, Mobile Broadband, Phone...etc)
NOTE that Three's 'Feel at Home' is often very slow or nearly non existant data in some countries so do not expect to go to the USA and stream HD video, let alone SD video or even spotify.... it might work but my experience of Feel at home in France, Denmark and the USA is anything other than email, twitter, facebook, google maps or web browsing can be tricky or next to impossible. The data speeds are heavily throttled BUT was perfect for my phone's sat nav app and getting around the country and such like.

12GB = 12 000 MB
so on the 321 price plan it would cost 12 000 p = £120

Bought one today.
Seems to work fine in the second sim slot of my X5 Pro phone.
Tethering also working fine.
Bought it to use on those occasions when I need more data and for when abroad.
Called up Lifemobile to reduce my monthly bundle. They offered me 500/500/500 for £4 per month, which, when coupled with the 12gig on the 3 sim should suit me fine.
I prefer this over my existing mobile plan so I purchased and put it in my iPhone however I was told as its a mobile broadband sim I can't put credit in it to use texts and calls like pay as you go.
Does anybody know a way around this or am I stuck to just Internet?
Thanks in advance

You got this from Amazon? If so, that's good news
sazzopardi1971
21 Mar 16#80
They have this deal on Amazon for £34.84, but be weary..... Looks like it's 12 separate SIM cards 1GB data each, not 1 SIM card of 12gb
Yes it will work in a dual sim phone, BUT be aware quite a lot of dual sim phones only have a 2G second sim slot so if your other main calling sim is a 3G/4G only then this would not work.
Obviously if your main calling sim is able to receive 2G signals you could use that in the other slot.
What the previous reply to your question was trying to say was a Three network sim can not work in a 2G handset and must be 3G or above.
IlyasMiah
22 Mar 16#81
So it wouldn't work in a 4G phone?
But if the phone is restricted to 3G and below, it would work?
Are you sure? This doesn't really make sense to me...
Okay, to ask one more time. Can this be used in a phone? More specifically, a dual SIM phone, where the first (primary) SIM is something else?

If anyone plans on getting one of these for a trip to Hong Kong, I wouldn't bother, I used my contract sim over there 2 weeks ago and found it barely usable, constant connection drops and incredibly slow speeds, most of the time I needed to put airplane mode on and off again to get data connection back. I would however, say that it works ok in France, as it was fairly good when I went last year, I can't say for other Feel At Home countries though.

21 Mar 162#77
How is that a better deal?
This 12GB sim is aimed at low, occasional users. It costs £28.99 for a year. Your "better deal" costs £264 a year.
I don't use much data most of the time. a couple of hundred MB a month maybe. But occasionally if I go away for a few days I'll use a lot more data. If I had a contract I'd be paying for months when I hardly use any data, and other months I might use more than my allowance and end up paying a lot more.
A prepay deal like this is perfect for me. It would probably last me all year, and work out much cheaper than any contract.

I stayed with Three for years despite the signal being, at best, patchy and more often non-existent where I work (that's for phone and data). When they kicked me off the one plan at short notice earlier this year I moved to another provider and immediately witnessed a huge jump in speed and reliability nearly everywhere I used my phone and I got 20GB of data for just £5 a month more than I had been paying for Three's unlimited data that I couldn't effectively use anyway. All I'm saying is that Three may well be cheap for a reason?

odd thing is that IDmobile piggy-back on three network yet (now) include all EU countries, fair few more than three themselves (e.g. D, NL, B, etc). don't understand why three don't add more EU countries to feel at home now (even if EU roaming charges supposedly go June 2017).

I used three at home in Sep 2014 in California. It worked great. Used Google maps from LA to Las Vegas. Only time the network went down was when in the hills. But I had taken my Tom Tom with me so that worked when I had no signal on three. 99% of the time it's works great. I was not able to check for 4G signal as at the time I only had a 3G mobile. We are going to Spain over Easter and I will be using the phone again as my GPS for the hire car. Always take a sat Nov as back when in a low signal area.

Not that I'm aware of or have experienced, but when abroad it's very noticable despite doing a speed test which shows a good (potential) connection speed, the actual data is severely throttled and many applications just won't work. It's still a very good and cheap way to get data in other countries, especially like USA where roaming data is often £8 a MB !
No, you get 12GB of data that can be used anytime within 12 months, so use 1GB a month for 12 months or 12GB in one month and then it's run out. Further top ups can then be made once it's used up or the 12months has passed.
