Further to what I have just said, my best advise would be to turn up at the box office as early as possible to collect your tickets then if you are at a loss of time to kill then head on over to Resorts World with outlet shops and places to eat. With tickets in hand then like a normal paying punter you can head on into the venue when you please to take in or miss the support band as you prefer.
Just checked and timings are as follows.
Arena Doors- 1800hrs
Hometown 1925hrs-1940hrs
Conor Maynard: 1940hrs- 2000hrs
The Tide: 2005hrs-2030hrs
Interval: 2030hrs- 2100hrs
The Vamps: 2100hrs-2220hrs
So with doors opening at 6, and the first support band not even due on until 7:25 then definitely plenty of time to kill.

Wife just got Block 8 so sounds like earlier you get there the better tickets you can get. That said, just looked on Ticket Factory and almost all blocks have tickets left so I told her to move to a better block just after they come on if still empty.

I got 3 tickets for me and my daughters for tonight and we got to the box office at 3.30pm and we were close to the front and our tickets are in block 5 row d so towards the middle really. I'm definitely not complaining for £3! I would get there early though as by the time 4pm came the queue for the box office was massive!

We live in Oxfordshire (about an hour away) but with railcards and savvy timing we can get the train to new street for about £9 return (me and my daughter).
We did the Owl trail last summer and discovered so many places in central Brum that we had no idea even existed! It's given us lots of ideas for future days out.
Not much good for teeny boppers who like The Vamps, but the best discovery was The Church in the JQ

I think I need to change my slogan on my profile...actually it's not so much B'ham I have problems with, I think it's a great city, it's the suburbs and living in the Black Country.
Great profile pic btw....classic 12", New Order's 'Lonesome Tonight' one of their finest B-Sides...not at all impressed with the new stuff and saw them butcher 'Lonesome Tonight' live on Youtube...Peter Hook & The Light definitely can emulate old NO far better than NO can!

With rising prices of train tickets and depending how many of you that are going, and offsetting it against fuel costs I really doubt you would save any more over the £8 pre-booking fee to be honest even if train times did accommodate.
An off-peak day return is £5.90 with kids 5-15 being £2.95
And yes, Birmingham regeneration really has been wonderful, from Broad Street restaurants on the canal to Brindley Place, The Mail Box for more upmarket dining both set canalside, through to the newly designed Central Library (we are still yet to have set foot in that!), to New Street Station, The Bull Ring Shopping Centre it is no longer the monstrosity of 60s built ugliness it was in the 70s, 80s and 90s...thoughts of the old Bull Ring and The Pallasades make me shudder!
Have fun.

You can park in Resorts World itself, and possibly sneak Cinema validation if only going for the gig and not making a day of it and park for free, or a reduced £6 if you make £20 of purchases in Resorts World....but really £8 pre-booking at NEC from 8am to me for a FULL day of parking particularly if anyone wants to commute on the train or bus into B'ham to make a day of it is very reasonable.
Fluff
24 Mar 16#26
Any ideas for cheaper parking? The trains don't run quite late enough for us. Resorts World looks interesting actually - I'm sure kiddo will like it all.

I cannot think of anywhere with cheaper parking in B'ham at length, do not forget you would need to weigh up commuting if you parked further afield, £8 advance like I have posted I think is pretty reasonable.

24 Mar 161#27
I have just looked, surprised to see this actually....worth noting for anyone. If you pre book at NEC Parking [it states] the following in the FAQ.....
Car Parks are normally open from 08:00hrs each day. Special access will be made for events starting earlier. Please note that overnight parking is not permitted on the NEC site.
Pre-booking for the day at the NEC is £8 parking [here]
To be honest you would not do any cheaper even parking in the city.
My advise to you both to make a day of it would be to park at the NEC on the morning and get a day return ticket to New Street Station, mooch around B'ham City Centre and return at 4pm, get your tickets from the box office and then kill some time in Resort World....although retail shops there are only open till 6pm (8pm usually) on the holiday days this weekend (closed Easter Sunday), including Good Friday.
As with any city, Good Friday is not exempt from most stores being open...have fun.

You could consider a (albeit tiring) day of it and google places to park for the day in B'ham itself and then consider the train from B'ham New Street...it literally is only 10-15 minutes via train...many services run to Birmingham International rail station.
The regeneration of B'ham has really transformed the tired city...from the numerous restaurants by the canal on both Broad Street and the Mail Box, down past the Symphony Hall and brand new Central Library into the heart of the city properly with the impressive newly designed New Street Station and Bullring Shopping Centre.

Has anybody had these type of concert tickets through Showfilmfirst before?
Are they reliable and are they nothing more than back of the arena tickets?

Had tickets last year for two shows through Showfilmfirst myself, both in Birmingham......
Firstly a theatre musical, where like this they ask you to turn up in advance at the box office where they give you the allotted tickets......no problem. The other was at Birmingham O2 Institute to see Leftfield where admission was via box office, again no problem at all.
Have not had any experience though with paying for parking etc and Genting Arena (Former NEC Arena). I am sure as long as you get there well in advance for those seating tickets you will be ok.
Certainly from my experience of the theatre its an allotted set of tickets which are then printed as and when you get there....I would presume as with the theatre it would be a first come 'best view' scenario from what they have allotted....and none are going to be premium tiers....most likely higher or rear of venue.

From the sound of [this] single from last year, unless that is not a good example of their stuff then they sound absolutely NOTHING like your suggested artists.
*Edit* On further listens on youtube, including another song featuring Demi Lovato then they most certainly are nothing like any of those artists you mention and would not be considered for 6Music material. Definitely pop rock. Union J, One Direction, McFly etc would be far better examples. :smirk:

Unless it's a special show most of the NEC is seated and some are better than others - and sometimes the cheaper seats can be better. We went to see Quadrophenia and the whole of the stalls stood for the whole show - so if you were on the short side you'd see nothing.

Probably not too cool and R&B enough to be successful in today charts.

I had tickets a couple of years ago to Westlife (for free) that were at the back of the arena. I also had tickets for Bon Jovi (£5) and was quite near the front at the side. Both were at the O2.
