We live in a complex world. The more advanced it gets, the more vulnerable it becomes. We’ve created a house of cards. Remove just one and everything falls apart.
On Black Friday, a devastating pandemic sweeps through New York City and, one by one, basic services fail. In only days, without food or water, society collapses into chaos. The Division, an autonomous unit of tactical agents, is activated. Leading seemingly ordinary lives among us, the agents are trained to operate independently in order to save society.
When society falls, your mission begins.
The Division features:
Take Back New York
Welcome to a new generation experience in a persistent and dynamic environment, where exploration and player-progression are essential. Teaming up with other Division agents, your mission is to restore order, investigate the source of the virus and to Take Back New York.
A Living and Breathing World
Enter a universe where the time of day and weather conditions deeply impact your gaming experience. Use the environment to a strategic advantage to dominate fights and ambush your enemies. Utilize your gas mask to provide protection from the virus and upgrade it to enter the most highly contaminated areas.
Urban Jungle
New York City is being overrun by hostile groups that are trying to take advantage of the crisis. One such group is The Cleaners, who travel throughout the city wherever the contagion levels rise. Wearing hazmat suits and wielding flamethrowers, the Cleaners leave nothing but ash in their wake.
The Agents of the Division
Trained to act independently from any chain of command, Agents are autonomous and adaptive, working alone or in small groups. They are the last line of defence, activated when all else fails to save what remains.
Gear Up
As a member of The Division, harness state-of-the-art technology: both networked and prototyped. Loot fallen enemies and upgrade your gear. Customize your character and your back-pack, your lifeline in the event of a collapse, and communicate with the other agents at all times with your smart watch. Customize and level up your weapons. The choices you make will help forge a recovery or plunge the city deeper into chaos.
Game Changing Skills
Choose and upgrade your skills smartly and synergize with your team mates to increase your chances of winning in combat. Use the ECHO skill, a data collection tool that renders moments frozen in time, to learn valuable information about your immediate environment, find hidden loot, and help you to uncover the truth behind the pandemic.
Social Seamless Multiplayer
Seamlessly team up with friends to take down your enemies and achieve group objectives. Raise the security and morale levels of the surviving citizens of New York to unlock and secure bases of operations. Fight through a city where danger can come from anywhere and anyone, at any moment.
Snowdrop Engine
Powered by the fully new gen Snowdrop engine, Tom Clancy's The Division sets a new bar in video game realism and open-world rendering. Experience a chaotic and devastated New York like you’ve never seen it before.

Great game, and I always prefer physical copies. Sure you have to insert/remove the discs, but you can resell them or loan/borrow them to/from mates.

Only started this afternoon but really impressed with this. Picked up the Smyths trade-in offer. I've been ignorant to most of the Tom Clancy branded games since like, Rainbow Six on the original XBOX.
In my head I was assuming something more like COD. Thankfully it's not. I'm loving the cover system, am I right there's no crouch function? I've never been so disappointed that my mate doesn't have this one for coop. Only bugbear is the enemies are absolute bullet sponges. A boss on hard mode had me nearly pulling my hair out.

£41.99 on Amazon. Still not super cheap but I guess they have to pay for the absolute whitewash of advertising for this game.

U need Xbox live or ps+ To play through the game and u just go to missions without match making to play missions solo but they not solo missions

I also thought Destiny was dull as dishwater. Although if you ask a mate of mine he'll tell you it's one of the greatest FPS games he's ever played, so each to there own. That being said, I didn't like Destiny, I'm loving this. But it will be better with friends, even though it's great with randoms.

You will need PS+ to play unfortunately, as it's run through online servers whether you play with anyone or not.

Yes. You can solo all the early stuff, and team up with similar level players for specific missions using the matchmaking function either in the safe houses, or at the mission entrance.
Pretty much the entire west side, and most of the south-east is soloable. The east and north-east sides will probably require you to have matchmaking teams, and require team work with division of responsibilities as the hostiles in those areas are tactically aware and can be extremely brutal. When I mean tactically aware, the hostiles use military recon, hand signals between each other, and suppression.

I have 3 friends haha as I'm 47 so no close friends into gaming. I found a couple of players online in the division yesterday as they had the same play style as me and played as a team. so yes definitely no problem if not friends have this game.

Is it action all the way through or is there a story to play out?
mark_ed to richje100
12 Mar 16#19
There is a story line, and so far I am about 57% of the way through and am at Level 23 after about 42 hours. However it is possible to do the story in around 15 hours or so, if you know the tricks to leveling up fast (gain XP +10%, etc, using high damage weapons.)

I was completely on the fence buying this. My (real life) mates were constantly all playing different MP games even after we all bought the same games like Destiny/COD/BF etc, we all ended up liking and hating each game individually and some (Destny/COD) were money wasted for me. So I reluctantly picked this up, as we all did, and for the first time this gen we are all in the exact same boat. We can't stop playing it. Server issues here and there but great game.
