I am a bit lost... you take 2 potatoes, 1 leek, 1 onion, 1 stock cube and boil these. Add a cup of milk and you have a lovely pot of soup. WHY do we need a machine to do this?

Handy if you are ever in a coma and need feeding daily through a tube. Until then in the cupboard alongside the breakfast muffin maker thingy.

Making your own soup in a 'pan' is the easiest - why would you spend £50 on a gadget .

making your own in a gadget is easier in my opinion, and you have another kitchen gadget!

Doesn't fill a big enough space in your cupboard to justify fifty quid. That grill thing posted yesterday would do a far better job for the money!

I think the cheaper version is non stick
Great deal but we have made up our minds and reserved the 1.6L Morphy Richards at Argos for click and collect.
Thank you though for the awareness of this product, if it wasn't for this deal I'd still be eating the other halfs *cough* fantastic home made soup..

Bought one of these a couple of months ago, absolutely fantastic bit of kit, put it all in and forget about it and it's perfect every time. I agree you could save money and use the hob and blend it afterwards but you need to keep an eye on the pan to stop it boiling over, keep stirring it so nothing sticks and frankly it's that easy to do the kids make the soup

Until it breaks.
You still have to 'stand around' chopping veg. Boiling vegetables doesn't require much standing around, basically once the vegetables are cut, you put them in a pan and pour water over them. If you want to speed up the process you can boil the water in a kettle first.
Then you set yiur watch, sit back and watch TV. Once the vegetables are boiled you blend them using a hand blender.

Was looking at this and for a bit extra you can buy the Morphy Richards 501014 which has a 1.6L capacity for a larger family
Both devices receive great reviews

"so all you need to do is add your ingredients and leave the Easy Soup to do all the hard work for you. It only takes two buttons to start the cooking process and then the Easy Soup will not only blend your ingredients but also cook them too. There will be an audible 'beep' to let you know when your food is ready, but the Easy Soup is double insulated so your food will stay hot if you happen to be out of the room when it's finished cooking"
too much standing around with your method

How is this (£50 worth) better than bringing water to the boil on your job and chucking in some veg?
