It's painful to read this. I never though I'd see the day we were waiting for single player to be added as DLC.

Great deal, the gameplay is amazing. Not a lot of content though. Cinematic cutscene mode comes out in June, I might sell my copy and purchase then.

Love this game. Insane gameplay, too much fun. So accessible compared to SF4 and the matchmaking fixes are spot on now for EU. I'm definitely getting matched with equal skilled players. Sometimes I creep too high and have to fight Silvers and Ultra Silvers but they're not the strongest ones in those leagues and can put up a good fight until I get pushed back down again. They're looking at more than just points when matching you.
Can't wait for Guile. Got loads of cash to spend in game, nearly 200k. So Guile and two costumes I guess. Ballin'

Complete all the Story modes for about 5/10k a completion. Clock all the Survival Modes on Easy for another 10k each and start going through on Normal as well (30 wins to complete, gives 3 extra costume colours and more money again). I've got about 215k so far through this before playing online, very tough to farm money through the online mode though (you get +1k I think for every time you level a character on there, level 30 is the max for each character).

Yeah I need to do the easy mode survivals on all chars. Only done easy and norm on Bison so far, but I did do all story modes. Those were super fast to knock out. I've been farmin points online, just another 10k to go to 200k. 50 monies per win, 0 for a loss

daaaaam already price dropped i paid 35quid for pre ordering anyway is anyone having trouble with logging in to the server? it's happening to me for the past 3 days and can't go online, it's the last time I pre order any kind of games
If you are looking for a fighting game MK XL has soooooooo much more content than this. I was looking forward to this game, do not buy it at the moment, it is heavily lacking. Wait a few months and get it at a cheaper price with more content

Wow nice find. So characters are either 100k or I'm guessing £1 per Zenny so £6? And Premium costumes have to be bought with Zenny, so £4. Prob cheaper if you buy Zenny bundle.
That's not terrible for me. Happy enough to pay £4 for a premium Guile costume. Some of the story mode costumes aren't great.

jeccius to darkspace100
1 Mar 162#23
It's bombed so hard because only the multiplayer side is in there at present, and that's not quite 100%.
Once they can appease us casual players then it'll pick back up again, just a shame they chose to have a damaged launch with half a product instead of a delayed full game.

To the people saying they will wait until single player DLC is out I would say don't bother.
I played the single player of SF4 for as long as it took to unlock the secret characters (a couple of hours) and never went back to it again in 5+ years. If you're anything like me 99.9% of the time you will either be in training mode or playing online.
Neobrown to kissenger
1 Mar 16#28
I played SF4 single player countless times. Best way to learn new characters and new game mechanics before you take them online.
Plus alot more effort has gone into SFV story mode, so it'll be worth replaying with different characters
darkspace100
1 Mar 16#26
I'm not sure the lack of content is entirely at fault on why the sales bombed. Sure it definitely hurt the sales but there are casuals who don't go to watch video reviews or go to metacritic to see review scores.
I think Street Fighter just isn't a big brand anymore and has lost relevance for many reasons.
Hardcore Street Fighter fans are a minority, theres probably only a few thousand of you on this planet and the casuals who are in their millions don't care about Street Fighter anymore. Also Star Wars battlefront was also lacking content but still managed 12 million sales in 2 months so lack of content isn't the reason.

Street fighter is a big brand but fighting games just don't tend to do too well, mkx seems to have done well though!
SFV is not a complete game it's so diluted it's a joke and capcom are a disgrace releasing this as it is.

Street Fighter 5 is basically a free to play game that was full price so i wouldn't even recommend this at this price.

Even though Street fighter hasnt sold as much as say Mortal Kombat X, it still brings in more unique viewers than any other fighting game.
I havent seen the official sales, but I can tell you that local tournaments so far have more entrants, online viewers and more new faces than SF4.
So future looks bright for the game.
Edit: There seems to be more sponsor support too, as pot bonuses are already bigger.

Man at this rate once the game is a complete product the price will be like a fiver!. Right now it's kind of a mess, you can quite your matches and not get a lose penalty.

2 Mar 16#35
Training mode is better for learning new characters/mechanics. You can get everything you get in arcade simply by setting dummy to CPU, but you also get to practice combos, safe jumps, etc, etc.
You have a point about the story mode, but I only play SF for the competition so I'm not bothered about the story, but that's just me.

I think there will be an update/ more content added in march and june
jeccius
2 Mar 16#37
Yeah; the apparent March patch is meant to open the store and challenges mode while bug fixing along with addressing rage quitters. The June one is meant to be bringing in a full cinematic arcade mode.
I'll keep this on the shelf for a few weeks and play Rocket League instead lol, that game never fails to amuse.

Hope capcom learns a lesson from this- you cant fob the public off with a half finished game and expect them to pay full price. Watched Videogame nation who were covering SFV the other day and they decided not to finish their review since the game was so incomplete.
Saying that I will get it eventually since im a massive SF fan! :smirk:

I wouldn't be surprised if they lock DLC such as arcade mode into grinding/season pass and claim its free but you have to grind it or pay for it.

Stuff like viewers or entrants mean nothing if sales are low and trust me the sales have bombed for this game and its flopped everywhere including Japan as well.
If my calculations are right the sales for the game are around 400k which is awful for big AAA franchise. Just to give you how bad the sales are is that Street Fighter X Tekken sold less than 2 million and was considered a major failure and i can't see SFV doing any better espesially as its selling worse than that spin off.

Also whats funny is the season pass is only for 2016 meaning they are most likely going to make a new season pass for every year. This game was designed as a mobile game trying to get as much money from you.

This same guy, every single SF thread, crying about Arcade mode! It's like his every waking hour is tormented by something so inconsequential that only a complete lack of any sense of proportion or responsibility in actual life could account for it.
Honestly, the bilge you guys are coming it with is hilarious. There are reasons why the game launched as it did. Tournament seasons chiefly, and the game had never attracted so many new entrants. Couldn't have been more successful in its competitive play.
Who on earth plays arcade mode for more than a few mins anyway. I guarantee you these whiners wouldn't have unlocked their colours by now to even mess around in Arcade mode yet if it was in.
People crying about the best iteration of SF yet, without actually having played it.
Feel sorry for you guys. I understand criticism, but to rant and rave rabidly about something like a game constantly over multiple threads is worrying.

It's absolutely astounding, huh? And so much of his never-ending, vitriolic bile is either speculation, exaggeration, or just plain wrong.
"...arcade mode and other features will be locked from unless you play for [thousands] of hours..." The roadmap states the story mode will be a "free update" (yep, in bold).
And the constant touting of Mortal Kombat X as an alternative seriously makes me wonder if he works for NetherRealm, haha!
On the whole, it's disappointing to see people regurgitating opinions from video game journalists, at times word for word, and passing them off as their own. It seems like a sensible consumer reaction would either be to wait for the story mode (and inevitably a drop in price) in June, or to buy it now and enjoy playing online. All this talk of being "shocked" and "appalled" at Capcom is ridiculous. Seriously, if SFV being released without a story mode for a few months is the biggest issue in your life, count yourself lucky.
