Shame it doesn't look like they're releasing the 3D blu-ray until later in the year!

I didn't really enjoy the film, felt it was targeting too large an audience.

I'm not sure I understand this. It's not like the Star Wars films have ever been narrow-appeal arthouse films, is it?

£13.99 for the HD version on Google Play. £9.99 for the standard edition.

that's a digital copy? why would you pre order a digital copy?
DaveWallace
4 Mar 16#8
Especially when the SD version is more expensive than the DVD...
Still, the HD version represents a whopping 40p saving over the Blu-Ray.

I've seen the 3 old films from the 80s, is this worth watching?

Yeah, if you enjoyed those you'll probably enjoy this.

Well the first one was 1977 but it would take some picky nerd to point that out as we all know what you meant.

Not read further, so maybe had lots of replies but I'd say no, myself. Combines all the best bits of those, If had only seen the latter 3 then it would have been a yes. Love Star Wars, glad saw this in cinema, but wouldn't pay that much to see this one again. If it's cheaper, probably worth a watch as long as you don't believe the hype.

Horrible film! They copied the story from the first one and made it so stupid. Terrible acting. Will not be watching any more that JJ Abrams makes.

You won't have to, as he's not directing any more. Rian Johnson is doing the next one, and Colin Trevorrow the one after that.

Still expensive at £15 for blu-ray. Saw it in IMAX for that price. Don't see the point of paying more for a disk that what it costs to see it in the cinema.

I pay £3.50 for my cinema - does that mean I shouldn't pay more that that for a Blu Ray???????

The film is OK, but essentially a box ticking exercise!
1) The first movie had lots of sand - check
2) The first movie had a young character with no parents, living in the sandy world - check
3) The first movie had a droid that made lot of beeps and bops - check
blah blah blah blah blah...
It ain't original, it is stupid, its mildly entertaining and way better than the prequels, I look forward to the next main movies, but they will be flogging a dead horse with the "Spin Offs".

And here we see HUKD becoming a 'review' site again as opposed to a 'deals' site.
Cheapest price for a very in demand new product = hot.
I'll wait till it's on Channel 5 one Thursday night....

I haven't seen the other films, so I guess it's my own ignorance for thinking they were supposed to be super intellectual films, but I felt it catered to 10 year olds and 70 year olds alike. Not my cuppa latte.
