So Nintendo essentially sells physical DLC which can be used in multiple games and it's a scam? How do other publishers sell their DLC? Is it by any chance by digital only, losing any possible resale rights, that only works for the game it was purchased for.

Cold? First, I dont buy a game for anybody else but me. Second, while the Bayonetta 1st print edition may not be selling for hundreds at present, the fact it is a very new game from this gen is probably why. Games usually only sky rocket in price a good few gens later AND if said game is kept in good condition. Personally I think both Bayonetta and Star Fox Zero 1st print edition are HIGHLY collectable items.

Edit: Oh and of course SCamiibo can be used in this game. C'mon, it's SCamiibo, they've got to scam you. The Falco amiibo unlocks some special black arwing I think and the Star Fox amiibo.......Good God I just don't care!

In regards to this deal, I would like the first print edition but this doesn't seem like a good deal to me. GAME never let you use account credit on preorders, I'm not aware of any current preorder discounts, and the exact same price would have gotten you a cool looking T-shirt from the nintendo store's listing. You've told me nothing I don't already know. Star Fox Guard looks like it's nothing more than a demo. It should have been a mini game on the Star Fox Zero disc. But then Nintendo have to try and swindle us out of money to get this as a physical release by having a limited first print edition.
Jazzer94

Why I'm hesitant about this game:
-Lack of dog fight couch multiplayer

-No online space battles (even Command had this)
-Completely missed the opportunity to expand on Assault.

You'll get this for around 20 quid come the second half of June once Ninty have announced the exact release details for the NX at E3, mark my words.
And no I'm not a hater, I got a Wii U and love nearly every game I have bought for it but I'm not buying another title full price because I'm sick of they have gone about this whole sorry episode.
They will drop all support for Wii U like a stone within six months of the NX launching, like seriously what's the point of buying anything full price for this console any more?
PrinceRules64
30 Mar 161#57
Sure, I wouldn't call SFG a 'full game'. Sure, you could call it a 'small game', a spinoff, a side game, a minigame, or even just a bonus. However, your insistence on the word demo is nonsensical. If it's a demo, what exactly is it a demo to?
montblanc
30 Mar 16#58
There was an advance demo of Bayonetta 2 and there was pretty much no way it could be bad anyway, especially with a copy of the original game in the package. This game however is much more of a risk?
jimidini
30 Mar 162#59
Star Fox Guard is not a demo. It's an actual game. And it's a typical 15 EUR digital game, just like for example Mario vs. Donkey Kong: Tipping Stars is. Calling it a demo implies, that you can buy the "full game" later, but you don't. You get the actual game on disc, which is actually quite a surprise, because Tipping Stars never received a physical release.
btw. it was developed by Nintendo + Platinum games as well.
If YOU don't want Star Fox Guard, then that's okay. Just buy the regular stand alone Star Fox Zero. Or rather buy nothing at all. I don't care. For people, who actually want to get both games, this is quite a nice deal. And for people, who prefer physical copies, this is actually THE only way to get them both on physical disc. And you get a steelbook on top of that.
Your posts on that matter are simply misleading.
When Nintendo call something "Limited" or "First Print", they actually mean exactly that. They are not Ubisoft.
You may surely get Star Fox Zero cheaper at some point. You may get a digital copy of Star Fox Guard cheaper too. But this right here? Will be sold out and gone.
link2metroid
30 Mar 16#60
Yes it's wrong to call it a demo. What Miyamoto presented was a demo but when it releases it'll cease to be a demo and will now be a "game".

The 'first print' bundle with the Guard disc won't drop like a stone sadly, but I can totally see the main game on its own going down like a Lego game. Splatoon had a cheaper price to begin with and I wouldn't consider £30 for Mario Kart 8 much of a price drop (which is insane compared to what buying games for PS4 and XB1 is like).

You're well within your rights to have that opinion, as am I to have mine. You most likely still think I'm anti ninty which you couldn't be more wrong with, let me show you a pic of my 'brat bin' here in Austria from a couple of months ago. Because I'm in the middle of moving back to blighty all my gaming gear is packed away in boxes already.
Sad as xxxx for someone who was getting deported from other countries for ASBO antics twenty odd years ago but yeah I do collect the Amiibo and have been playing Nintendo games since nigh on single figure age in the 80's.
So please don't have me down as a hater because I'm far from that, I'm just not a blind fan either. 31 Mar 16#74
And what impression should I make?
Having put thousands upon thousands of pounds in to Nintendo products over decades I think I have every right to criticise what I and many many others consider is wrong with how they go about things.
This thread has always been about the deal, I just dared to point out the Wii U is dead so this specific title is little more than a token farewell to the system and will be going stupid cheap in no time at all.
You chose to take this thread away from the deal by accusing me of all sorts of off quay things because one: you disagreed with my sentiment on the deal and more to the point two: you were totally oblivious to the existence of arguably the most divisive outspoken gaming related youtuber out there at the moment.
So please don't put that on me, yeah I came back at you about it but who wouldn't? Even now you're STILL attempting to accuse me of hating Nintendo because I refuse to show blind unconditional devotion to the brand that you and others in this debate seem to.
I said nothing offensive at all, your lack of basic general knowledge of current gaming media took the thread away from the deal. The bottom line is you actually confirmed me questioning fan boy/girl/baby wisdom and mentioning CrapgamerReviews was hate speech in your eyes before it got wiped #genius

Funny you should mention that because 'toxic' me just spoke to the matey in PlayTime at the precinct here in town when I popped down to Merkur and he reckons he'll be knocking it out at €35 at launch and yet he's still only got three pre-orders which is around 27 quid give or take at current rates.
I ain't ever even said it's overpriced, merely stated the obvious which is it will drop rapido because of circumstances. I'm not even convinced this 'first print' issue will sell like hot cakes as some are suggesting, let alone the standard edition.
Even Amazon Deutschland who tend to keep ninty prices high on pre-order and then drop in the last couple of days before release have got it at €45 and that Guard add on for €15
No dramas though, Millwall Chas the toxic ASBO is just tearing up for the sake of it eh :smirk:

I think the point was that this edition won't drop in price too much. Star Fox itself is already pretty cheap for a new release. I'm sure it'll get sub £20 in the not too distant.

If you want to argue, fine. But, you'll get no more from any of us with any sense. #Toxic

The individual Star Fox Guard games being sold are download codes though. So this physical version may well be somewhat limited and you know what Nintendo collectors can be like, and rarish games can fetch quite a price.
