This will be much like "Mario Vs. Donkey Kong: Tipping Stars" in which you get a physical copy but it's redeemed through a download code on the eShop.

quite oddly looking forward to this

Is there gonna be a version where you get a physical case (with no disc) but a scratch card download code?

That's what this listing is, isn't it?

That's what they have up for pre-order. Think of Mario Vs. Donkey Kong Tipping Stars.
For those that pre-ordered Star Fox Zero from TGC for £26 can get this also for less than £40.
EDIT: Nintendo Store's price will either be £49.99 or £59.99. Not a fan of either and on the plus side, ordering SFZ solus it's definitely a UK copy which I wholeheartedly prefer.

I see that the "First Print Edition" is also up for pre-order - though £59.95 is surprisingly pricey. I'd expect in this case that the UK RRP may end up being lower than that - hopefully we'll find out soon enough!

I suspect it will retail for £59.99 - its the only way to get a physical disc version of star fox guard

Going off intuition here, but I think this is going to be one of those editions that get super rare. I think it's a limited run, possibly?
With the wii U dying this year or next, I can't imagine them printing huge amounts of this and the physical edition of Fox Guard ONLY comes with the first print. Everything else is a download code.
£59.99 may actually seem cheap.

Wouldn't really bet that the Special Edition includes a physical disc for Star Fox Guard either.

I was just coming on here for this very game. Was wondering if all previous pre-orders would be including this seeing as it's first print. I'm guessing no...
Lomi
8 Mar 161#9
think it was confirmed on the direct that the special edition was containing a disc and would be the only place to get it.
Edit: - the steelbook also has a space for two discs
The First Print Edition for Star Fox Zero and Star Fox Guard has both games on discs and arrives on 22nd April.

I'm pretty sure that says "Download Code". :man:

Yep - that image shows the three boxed editions available:
Star Fox Zero solus - retail disc Star Fox Guard solus - download code Star Fox Zero First Print Edition - two retail discs

That'd be the only reason to get the Special Edition but I'm no fan of steelbooks so I'll pass.

You dun goofed.
The first Print is a disk.

Not sure... certainly the only other "First Print Edition" (Bayonetta 2) isn't common, but Coolshop having this available suggests to me that stocks may be higher for Star Fox Zero. This is Nintendo first-party IP, after all...

Where is selling the first print edition? I can only find listings for the standard? Thanks in advance
£60? Nintendo need to cop the f*** on and stop ripping us off. We're a small base of loyal Wii U owners and they're trying to bleed us dry. Show us some reward and respect for sticking by you Nintendo. That Star Fox Guard "game" is a mickey mouse Miyamoto experiment that he's shoehorned into the Star Fox universe. Just like he's determined to rush the game out and force unintuitive gamepad controls on us as well with no alternative. No online multiplayer either. I await the reviews with great interest.

Star fox zero has been delayed twice now. It has also been rebooted and reworked from what I gather. Now they are tacking this POS ios game on and charging £60 for it? I am a nintendo wii u owner and a fan but not a fanboy. Nintendo seems to treat its "fans" the worst it seems. I mean come on, starfox zero should cost no more than £20 and this game should come for an extra £5 max. Have you seen it? I will get these so called "limited" editions once the price stabilises which happens very quickly to nintendo games these days. Also this whole BS about amiibos and nintendo first party titles not dropping in price is utter junk.

8 Mar 16#24
I have to disagree with your comments about price. At the end of the day this is a shump, not an action game. It should not have a long campaign. Compare it to something like Ikaruga or Radiant Silver Gun.
Salfordgirl1
8 Mar 161#25
Lol, what?
No it doesn't. The price of actual limited editions/first prints (NOT Ambio bundles) tends to spiral upwards very quickly.
Nintendo IP games tend to go for £30-40, sometimes £50. You're never going to get it for £20.
£30 - Game
£10 - Guard
£10 - Steelbook
It shouldn't be £60, but it saying a limited run first print of a game should be £20-25 is ridiculous.
Gamer_U
8 Mar 16#26
Unless you actually get prove that Nintendo's stated they're both in two discs then you're just going off assumptions.
No. Cheap? As long as Nintendo fanboys see it's worth it that's up to them.

Bayonetta 2 Special Edition and Twilight Princess HD Special Edition beg to differ.
Doesn't state anywhere that the FPE will contain the disc for Star Fox Guard but it might include because the steelbook includes placement for two discs. Still, it's not a confirmation.
EDIT: I've been looking around the web but so far nothing about Ninty stating Star Fox Guard will in fact be on disc for the FPE box.
That settles it. It does in fact. Not sure why Nintendo didn't state it on the video itself and pretty much on the Nintendo Directs.

Gamer_U old boy, once again it's you and I in one corner trying to sort things out with unbiased facts. I've noticed more and more how we always seem to say the same thing individually. Kindered spirits I guess. Strangely enough I've had you on my wii u friends list since 2013. Funny eh? Just called nintendo CS out and they seem to think it's a download code also. Even they're not sure. Good going nintendo.

It's a disc actually. A disk usually refers to a Hard Disk and a Floppy Disk but "disk" is also used in US as a form to refer to discs (we're in UK last I checked).
Anyway, chill out, Salford. You seem to be stressed about it.

The pre order price of Star Fox Zero First Print has gone up by £5.
Illusionary to Salfordgirl1
9 Mar 16#45
That's the wrong direction...:smirk:
Actually, though, that adds additional weight for me in thinking that even at £59.95 this was a marked-up price from Coolshop and £50 will be the more likely UK RRP.

When are other UK retailers gonna start selling the "First print" edition or are we all going to get it if we have pre-ordered already? Amazon doesn't seem to know anything about it.
Illusionary to allego
9 Mar 16#49
That's the question that I think everyone who's ordering would like to know the answer to! The same applies for other 'special'/'limited' edition releases, in particular for Fire Emblem Fates.
Sadly, it's just a matter of watching and waiting... and hoping that the frequency with which we see "only at GAME" is minimised. :smirk:
I expect that once other stock becomes available for order, it'll be posted here on HUKD in one form or another.
