I use this drill everyday on-site and have been for over 2 years.it's well worth the money.I also like the fact that not many people on-site will be interested in nicking the batteries from this when I have to leave them on charge in site canteens unlike the Bosch and makitas

who's saying this wouldn't last a life time?
I would say it's perfectly fine for the average diy'er which is what the majority of hukd users will be.
your argument is paying nearly an extra 50% for a superior product.......well it will be as your paying more.

Now £64.44 (Easter Sunday). There's also the paintusapicture.com survey printed on Homebase receipts or possibly by a survey card in store that gives a code for £5 off your next purchase over £50. Haven't tried to use the code yet though so not certain if it works, but maybe worth a try.

Drill is something that should last you several years if not a lifetime. So worth paying a bit more. Fir another £30 you can get a Bosch professional combi drill , 3 yr warranty with 2 1.5 Li-Ion batteries from screwfix
Agreed except I think the batteries would not have much left in them beyond 4 or 5 years and replacements cost so much you'd be forced to buy a whole new set at that point

EEJIT ALERT. What a load of cobblers. Too much money, and no brains. Not sure what the Fir tree has to do with anything!

Fatmax has 3 year warranty. It also has hammer action. I have had one for 3 years and can't fail it. Hot!

you have to look at it that I got the hammer drill function one as don't have to dig out my sds for quick jobs. would of been happy with this. 2.0 and hammer was just a bonus. this is a solid deal. solid piece of kit reliable and great price. was just stating I had picked up the other version. so I'm not allowed to mention a similar product in a thread. when did that rule come in to play on this site. Oh wait never. lol

10.8v enough power to drill walls as the Bosch has hammer function. Read reviews here.

10.8v isn't much more than a power screwdriver really.

More powerfull than my more expensive 10.8v Bosch.:smirk:
Last time I picked one up was at Wickes a few months back, £99 including a drill/bit set iirc, but this is a typical example. Can't find any at the moment, around £105 on ebay looks to be the cheapest, but the offers seem to come around every few months.

Got one of these last Christmas - the quality and battery life are incredible. I thoroughly recommend it

Fast charge at 90 mins for 1.3Ah !? That's seriously slow. i.e Makita 3Ah generally takes around 20 - 25 mins, and before anyone says how Makita are far more expensive etc, you can often pick up a hammer drill, 3Ah battery & charger for £100 or less.

got the last deal. hammer version with 2 x 2ah lion batteries. great drill. my father in law is in the trade and loves nabbing it off me when we work together on jobs and his gear is makita and milwauke. so this should be pretty good. the charger charges in an hour. this should in theory be the same

It is not only about batteries it is diferent model with hamer much more useful. The one we talk about is the drill without hamer function.

Another owner of this drill chiming in here - it's an excellent tool, very nicely made and with great battery life.

Just a side note. The stanley from argos has 2.0Ah batteries and charge from zero to full in 45mins, with the quick charger, for £30 extra.

I don't suppose anyone knows the exact weight of this fatmax drill with one battery attached?
I have been pondering getting the bosch. I think it comes in at less than 1.5kg with 1.5AH battery. Looking for something not too heavy.

I have this Drill. Brilliant piece of kit. Battery lasts ages and stores charge for a long time.
Also seen professional builders using the same kit so that's a positive too!
