It may sound stupid but I have ridiculously hard ground and the spade just won't work as it is not pointed like a shovel. I ended up using the hedge scissors...

Sorry but i would be dubious, bought the Stanley pair and the fork broke within a couple of minutes, i don't think these will be any different.. I'm sure you'll get your money back, but just hassle.
