manufacturing problems (which are covered by warranty anyway) usually show up within 1 year and are unlikely beyond that. there are no vulnerable caps anymore on the logic boards

I'm sat waiting on a refund for a bent 50" Sony bought from these people.
A bent telly is a damaged telly, not a "refurbished" telly.
I dont recommend.

You are always entitled for refund whether refurbished or new. BTW sometimes you buy things from Curry's and you realize its broken or damaged right oout of the box

Total rubbish .my 900 pound Sammy plasma developed a fault after 3 years .luckily had 5 year m&s warranty.Manufacturers make dam sure products last 12 m then after that your on your own .A grand TV with 1 years cover doesn't bode well.

Never have nor will take out extended warranty on anything. Great price for an amazing tv

If you're that bothered take out an extended warranty or insurance on it - it's a decent saving and most people shouldn't need to even use the warranty anyway. Everything is a risk - same as buying a used car, phone, etc. Demanding a long warranty is a bit like subconsciously you are expecting it to fail.

that was quick, as I said. the 800£ difference can buy another TV 2 years from now should it die.. worth the risk. lucky were the ones who bought it

or the lucky ones will be ones who never bought it.
saw this 2 days ago, agree with others tv that price/size wouldnt buy without 5 year warranty, and no its not £800 cheaper as can be had for around 1500 brand new with 5 year warranty, think of it as 1100 and factor in less 4 year warranty cost and on top is second had who knows what problems were on this tv
personly think if sony selling someones seconds should atleast leaving the 5 year warranty that normaly comes with these type of tvs for peace of mind,..and no thanks i dont want the risk, then would say its ok buy for used tv

1649 for same tv with 5 year warranty so no not another tv for the same price in 2 years time.
So if this tv stopped working in 2 years and you bought 2 then the price would be 2198 for 2 compared too, 1649 for a brand new never used taken out of the box tv with a 5 year guarantee. So if this tv u found went wrong within 5 years it would cost 549 more if you bought another too replace.
I guess if you think you got a deal then nice one personally I wouldn't that kinda money without the warranty

Possibly maybe worth it at this price but I personally wouldn't buy a new TV at this size, over a grand without a five year warranty.

that all comes at a price.. the difference is the even more than the price of another new TV same model once 1 year warranty is over should the TV go dead

That's not correct at all most things break after the warranty runs out hence how the cycle of buying products work. After they run for a while dry joints etc. I get u think it's a great deal but a grand on tv that "should" work for years in ur words is a risk. Best tv in the world and if still want a 5 year warranty included

To save £800 well worth the limited risk of a 1 year guarantee, bought a Sony 32" CRT for £1200 15 years ago with a 1 year guarantee, didn't worry at the time.
