ACEA is more relevant here in Europe, and manufacturers spec oil is important too, not just for warranty.
Can't remember the last time I saw an API spec officially recommended here by manufacturers, think it was a eary/mid 90's car.

As you stated, its your opinion. :-) Not a single member will buy SN and come back to complain. People can pretty much chuck anything in wont not notice the different. If they chuck SN they will have the piece of mind, knowing its among the best currently available. Companies like castrol are still selling SJ, SL, of course people are happy, wont know the different because practically there barely isn't. I just dont like members paying a premium for inferior oil.

Ignore all the various ratings except the API one, the latest and most advanced is API-SN, the previous was API-SM etc etc. Dont use anthing below SJ, which you are unlikely to find.

Not good advice that. API is almost primitive compared to ACEA and manufacturers standards imo.
Does anyone have the spider charts for this? Would be nice to know which VW/Audi and BMW spec it lines up with.
A bit too good - Halfords do good oil for battered Fiestas :P

Thought you usually did that with fish but no accounting for taste.
Yes the oil is suitable and at that age a little oil mollycoddling is needed on the engine ... "Oils meeting the Ford WSS-M2C 913-C Engine Oil specification are fuel economy engine oils for all Ford vehicles ".
Haven't bought from EuroCarParts in a few years but good deal for this oil, ordered some other service items as well.
Used the voucher box code and quidco.

As Pavel says generally they spec Ford variants. Don't use sites to check for specs use your handbook. Our Mazda6 2.2d specs C1 low saps. While it's in warranty that's what it will get. After I'll have a poke about and decide if I need to stick with it.
iv got a vauxhall meriva would you recommend this oil for that?

Vauxhall version costs £2 more if I'm correct... put your reg nr on the left side of eurocarparts page to see right oil(and other parts) for your car

Lol i use this in my 911, and its a standard in Ferrari's.......its not this cheap when I'm doing an oil change. I should buy a small shipping container at this price.

This is the best synth oil I have used, better than castrol gtx, Fuchs Titan xtr, etc, IMHO.
Engine runs smoother, and fuel economy improved around 2% on my small Toyota. It seems to maintain the original performance longer than Castrol.

What is your car?
Triple QX is generally regarded as a lower grade oil for cars. Look for Mobil1, Shell, Castrol.

You need the viscosity that's it. There is no such thing as Audi oil. It's all SAE approved.
Shell finder suggested Shell Helix Ultra A5/B5 0W-30
Would this be ok?
