Please note this is only for people considering buying a s7 edge. This is not about whether you like android or not. Equally it is not about whether you think it is value for money as it is a flagship product still to be released.
I would like to invite everyone who is voting negative to highlight a better deal so we can help others who are thinking of buying a s7 edge please.
Equally I would like to invite those that find a better deal to put it in here so everyone can benefit please.

Think this may be the cheapest for those that don't use a lot of data and can afford to buy phone outright or through a 0% credit card option and dont want to be on vodafone. Life is on the ee network.

Then you need to select the s7 edge phone, then on left hand side select the value of the upfront phone cost to £100-£200. Then the cost of the month to £25 to £35. I hope this makes things a bit easier for folk.
Sorry for the formatting this site is not the easiest to demonstrate this type of thing for a novice like me maybe some of the more experienced people may be able to fix for me.

Be gentle folks I have tried to get a wide range of values but as always they wont be to everyones taste but it is the deal that I would like to help people with.
Look forward to everyone finding better deals and posting in this thread. Thanks everyone in advance.
Update 1
To sum up where we are at
Best value in my opinion is with 24 month contract if the £31.50 cash back goes through works out at £125 for handset, £31 a month over 24 months = total cost of ownership £837.50 and you get unlimited minutes, texts and 6gb of data. Network is Vodafone. mobiles.co.uk through topcashback (note it says s7 not s7 edge and cashback may not track)
Remember to go through cashback site and then what you do is
click on the s7 edge then go to left hand side and choose hanset value 100-200 then choose monthly cost 25-35 and you will then see the deal for this:
Best value 12 month contract is 10 gb data unlimited minutes, unlimited texts £64 a month with 47.25 cash back if it goes through. That equates to total cost of ownership of £720.75 over 12 months. Network is vodafone.
Link: http://www.mobilephonesdirect.co.uk/contract-mobile-phones/samsung-galaxy-s7-edge Remember to go via topcashback while it is running ;)
Buy sim free – best price of phone £619, rolling 30 day sim uswitch exclusive £10 pm =£739 total cost of ownership. This gets you 3000 minutes, unlimited texts and 3gb of data. network is life virtual operator.
Remember and go through cashback site and not link below:
Now go to cashback site to get discount on sim (uswitch- select life sim) http://www.uswitch.com/mobiles/networks/life-mobile/sim_only_deals/
You can see there is a £6 a month option there if you think you wont use more than 1gb but its 3g data.
If you do not like vodafone you will pay about £70+ over the 2 year period to go to ee and best deal is 5gb data for it see post 17 for details.
As always folks these are subjective and may not be for everyone but at least it lets you see quickly what I have found and if you can find better please help other potential s7 edge owners out by posting what you have found.
£837 for lowest 24 month contract I could find with half decent tarrif vs 12 month of £720.75 a difference of £117 approx can you get a sim only deal that would be better that would give you same deal after your 12 months run out? Only time will tell, we roll the dice and take our chances.
Some of these deals end 6/3/16 folks

Thanks everyone for your time reading this and for your vote, I was not trying to offend anyone when asking not to vote negative. It is your right to vote however you wish
There is a lot of people putting time and effort into supporting the site offering deals and information to people and people voting negative making no contribution is potentially putting people off of helping others. Again it is your vote and I respect everyones rights on here
The main thing I noticed when doing the research on the s7 was there is only really a couple of pound difference between what I found averaged out over the 24 month period. I know not everyone likes vodafone but if you look at the price of the deal without cashback it basically boils down to £32.63 buying serperate over 24 months assuming all stays same with life or £36.21 with mobiles.co.uk but you get unlimited minutes vs 1000 minutes and also 6gb data vs 1gb of data for the difference.
If you get cashback however price is even less for all those minutes and data. On the life combo you are £32.63 as there is no cash back vs £34.90.
We all like different phones and I respect each persons view point on that. I just hope that if there is better deals out there those voting negative will contribute something positive back

gandalf72 to Mikey123
5 Mar 16#9
I was going to do that but didnt know if it would come up as an affiliate link or cause issues. The main way to remember is that if you go down the combo route you go to uswitch and choose life as the network and there is 2 options one that is 1500 minutes I think and unlimited texts and 1gb of 3g data. You then need to buy the phone through either carphone warehouse or mobiles.co.uk to get the free vr or use the link to get the phone only at £619.
If you are going down the route of 24 month contract it is done through topcashback - click on mobiles.co.uk and then select the £31 cost per month with handset at £125
Sorry I am not good at these things but hopefully it helps you and others. Maybe if someone more clued up at these things can put the link in it can help others from advice I have given above.

These best value contract posts are subjective to say the least.
I'll be paying £37.49 a month for 5gb. But only paid £40 up front. I won't include the cashback, so that's just under £3 a month more. Worth it to NOT be on vodafone.
Sorry but I voted cold - time & effort doesn't make a deal a good deal. Vodafone are rubbish. (Again subjective.)

" I know not everyone likes vodafone"...Unfortunately a deal killer for me. Network coverage is sketchy round here and customer service is terrible.Signed up with Voda for a 2 year stretch after trying phone in shop. Really great call quality, reception etc. Went 100 yards down road and no reception. I thought phone was faulty and went straight back. Was told by salesgirl that they get good reception in shop on all display phones because they are connected via wi-fi to their suresignal box. Offered me a discount on one of these boxes, but what good is a signal at home - when I have landline and broadband, I need signal when I am mobile. Told me I couldn't cancel my contract. Was stuck for 2 years. CAB were next to useless too.
So not for me But NOT voted down either.

As stated deals are subjective
Vodafone offered me 20GB Data, Unlimited mins & texts on the S7 Edge for £29 upfront @ £49.99 p/m (matching the EE Deal) but with a staggering 40% line rental discount making it £30 a month. They'd have chucked in a Sure Signal as well as the Gear VR too because of the signal issues i've been having since I took my S5 out with them.
This was offered by the outbound sales team as I'd requested my PAC to move away from them to EE & informed them about a 25% discount I could be entitled to through EE's MVNO scheme. Didn't take it despite it being amazing value at £749 for the duration of the contract (Work on the sim being £15 a month making the phone just £389)
Upon calling Voda back to get it emailed as proof (Hoping CPW may have been able to offer me something close on o2/EE) the best they could offer me was a 20% discount as the guy who rang from Outbound didn't note it on the account as I made it clear I had no intention on staying with them Doh.
And karma came back & bit me on the ass as EE screwed me around & after an hour in the shop they said the discount would not apply to the S7 Edge until 6 months+.
So it's all swings and roundabouts, i had a great deal only to lose it.
Edit: Before I forget, Vodafone's Cancellation/Retention department both were adamant that no discount could be applied to the S7/Edge for at least 3 months, however Outbound Sales as well as New Connections both said that it could be applied in certain circumstances so if anyone decides to stay with them it could be worth talking to New connections or hoping for the call from Outbound Sales in Rotherham.

Agree with you re deals being subjective - sorry to hear you didnt get your good deal. Its one of these things if you are already with a network provider you may get a good deal via retentions and it is for sure something you should always do before taking a deal like I have highlighted.
The good thing with the deals highlighted is for those that are thinking of going down the route of s7 edge you know have more knowledge and who knows even use that to get better deal with your current provider.
I am not in that boat as I left my provider and now in a rolling 30 days with a virtual network provider sim only. I just thought I would help some folk out

If you go through quidco and carphone warehouse they are still doing the vr headset various packages there just pick the one that suits your data if your happy with vodafone. This deal is more for the heavy data users who don't mind being on vodafone, I have used the slightly lower topcashback amount here just to be on the safe side. It may track at either £52.50, 63 or nothing it is all a bit of a gamble.

Thanks for putting this together OP
Not sure if this helps, but was in and O2 shop (Redhill to be precise) and was questioning whether they would be doing the free VR headset. The manager told me that their deal is with the Jabra Headphones (worth £149, supposedly) but that the VR headset would be going on special offer for, he thinks, £40 over the coming weeks. He said that way you could get the headphones and sell them on ebay to cover the cost of the VR and maybe get a bit extra back in return...
Didn't convince me to upgrade, yet!
gandalf72
6 Mar 16#32
Thanks for your comments Golly72, its an interesting time ahead, looking at the prices so far it is very close a few £ really between them the one thing I didnt do was look at the price of the contract minus the cost of the phone when I done the above but I have now lost the template I created eeek that may be an interesting angle to view these at.
Interesting time for 02 if they are going to be bought over by 3 how that will impact the service / switch over etc. You always have to laugh when they say rrp of something astronomical for a product (rich in this thread for price of phone aye currumba) but I dont think Jabra headphones are anywhere near that figure no doubt they are for sale somewhere at that price but wow some price.
Then of course you have what people have identified in previous threads about samsung value dropping after 3 months by a fair margin. I guess for those looking its a case of roll the dice and take the gamble and hope you play a blinder.
Anyway folks I am going to sign off for now. Thank you very much for all your support I really do appreciate your kind words.
On the deal by redegan82 this is how it would work out:
Samsung S7 Edge
Cost of handset 0
Minutes Txt Data Cost Network
Mobilesphone direct Cost of sim p/m unlimited unlimited 10gb 64 vodafone
best cash back price 47.25
Cash back via topcashback 47.25
Cash back via quidco 45
Total cost 12 *64 pm without cash back 768
Total cost 12 * 64 pm with cash back 720.75
Sim + Phone 12 Month average cost per month without cash back 64.00
Sim + Phone 12 Month average cost per month with cash back 60.06
Sim + Phone 12 Month total cost of ownership no cash back 768
Sim + Phone 12 Month total cost of ownership with cash back 720.75
Just remember there is no vr headset with this offer. The carphone warehouse offers better value for those who dont mind 24 month contracts and vodafone network as they will give free VR headset. Its all horses for courses but the point of this thread is to try and keep all deals in one place relating to the s7 edge and help those that are interested. When the pre order finishes then I am sure we will see new deals for the phone.
Again it depends if you want the VR headset to either use or sell on which again in theory reduces your price over the period you own it. As previously said there only really seems to be a few £ either way you go 24 or 12 downside is payment per month vs network provider vs tarrif you opt for.

That's the problem with this post though, it does not really highlight any hot deals, its just a list of available deals. The 12 month one is excellent for early adopters and as such, is a hot deal. I don't particularly find these types of post helpful because there is too much information to go through - its easier to use a comparison site to find something that fits your particular needs and then establish afterwards if there is Quidco or TCB.

6 Mar 16#39
Again, your lists are difficult to follow - I just don't get the point you are trying to make from it.
A simple comparison without speculation over VR headsets and cashback would be :-
Cost of Device - £560 SIM Free
Cost of 12 month contract £768
Therefore cost of plan is £208/12 =£17.33 p/m for 10GB. The 10GB plan on Vodafone is £27, so you are saving £10 p/m against that.
Thanks for feedback. Where are you getting sim free phone for 560?

If you click on the link top right of the deal I can get £619 and I think a few others are selling at that price as well. Samsung are doing a deal where you can get cashback through topcashback plus buying phone off of them but not sure what that works out at.

Some of these deals end today folks

One interesting point I have noted is that if your not bothered about the vr headset it is actually costing more to get per month than to have without it. I am also hearing that there is a new version of the vr headset about to be released and as pointed out in a post above that will probably mean discount on current version if you were determined to get it and missed out on these.

6 Mar 16#48
I'm still undecided at the moment, but looking at the options, if you want the VR headset, buy from Samsung £639 (-£6 cashback) and get iD 1 month SIM (4GB) for £10pm (-£5.25 cashback) = £867 after 24 months before you factor in selling your existing phone. That's £2 less than what I'd pay upgrading with EE on 30% discount without a VR headset.

Voting negatively does contribute to the site. While some people (not you thankfully) seem to take it as some kind of personal insult if people disagree with their assessment of a bargain, it's the primary method of sorting them - pretty important when there are hundreds posted every day.
Equally, if people don't like "megaposts" that list information available elsewhere being classified as a deal, they've every right to give it a negative vote. If more people agree with you than they do with them (which they seemingly do) then the post will stay hot regardless.

6 Mar 161#51
Thanks for your feedback and I agree with you, one of the reasons I put that in there as a comment was to try and get people to contribute. This is a great site and sometimes the op does not always get the best deal which is why I am ok with folk voting negative. We are all human and I respect everyones right to do what they wish. I am just looking to help folk who may be thinking of buying this phone and if I can encourage others to help save someone money then that is just fantastic.
I totally get where you are coming from with the megaposts, they can get confusing quickly and I wondered if I should take the time to do this or not but figured if I help one person from this post then I am happy. Its all about individual preferences and that is what makes us a great society
Have fun folks and hopefully you all benefit from this post  Thanks for all the good contributions regardless if you voted hot or cold it is still valuable to get your thoughts!!

Don't judge Samsung on S6. It was pap. The S5 is great. The S7 is more S5 than S6 with new stuff. Hence why I'm looking to upgrade - having ignored the S6.

Great effort put in here much appreciated and heat added.
From what I have seen on youtube I am not major impressed with the S7 although I wanted to be and have a genuine reason to upgrade from my Note 4 .
I hate the fact you can only take advantage of the full 12mp resolution is by using 4:3 option , why does anyone want that on a smartphone with 16:9 screen so you then jump down to 9mp images to use full screen.
The video quality looks good but I have yet to see a video that performs better than my note 4 , yes low light will be better and quicker autofocus but again I am not seeing anything amazing. I use a Panasonic LX7 which is around £250 now and I don't see any phone beating this for years to come in low light.(only records in 1080 60p right enough so no 4k)
Also find the colours on both pics and video on the note 4 much more vibrant but this is just my opinion and not everyone likes extra colour added to pics/video.
If anyone has this phone I would be glad to hear what you think.
Thanks

There is no real point in giving links as I do not want to get cash back for your purchase. The point is you need to log in to your cash back site first and then select the plan.
I am sorry if this was not clear for you. I have tried to make it a bit more clearer now in the first post, thanks for letting me know it was not clear for you and hopefully this will help you now.

Any deals, preferably sim only, on the S6/S6 edge?
If you can be bothered with cash back via redemption and buying the phone outright at £619 you could end up with a 12 month phone costing £619 and a £3 p/m contract for 12 months with 1000 minutes, 2gb of data and unlimited texts. May not be to everyone's taste but still something to consider especially if you don't want to be on Vodafone. this works out at £54.58 a month over 12 months.
@slipd - This is probably going to be best deal sim only for you and should work on s6.

Ordered the £619 deal from Mobile Phones Direct on Sunday, only today do I find out that it's not due for delivery until the 15th. Possibly. Yes, I'm a spoilt brat, but I do like getting phones at launch. So I've cancelled and gone for a pre-order from Samsung which works out a little better once you've sold the VR headset. Which I probably won't :-)

Bear in mind that the UK is getting the slightly slower Exynos 8890-based model and not the faster Snapdragon 820 version. Probably won't make much difference to real world usage, but might influence some people's decision - particularly gamers.
or just sell it before S6 price plummets & buy an S7 Edge? or even buy a cheap S5 and get an S7 Edge once the price drops 2 months after launch. you dont have to stick to a phone if you dont like it.

You got a free Gear VR if you pre-ordered the S7/S7 Edge from Carphone Warehouse.
Selling the Gear VR would have dropped the overall price of the phone.
Since the phones have now been released, the best S7 (non Edge) prices are £540 (MobilePhonesDirect) and £560 (Amazon).
I'll wait for it to drop below £500.

Remember to go through cashback site and then what you do is
click on the s7 edge then go to left hand side and choose hanset value 100-200 then choose monthly cost 25-35 and you will then see the deal for this:
http://www.mobiles.co.uk/samsung-galaxy-s7-edge-gold.html?tid=LE2TMMAR15#phoneFilter%5Btariff_network%5D=&phoneFilter%5Bdeal_price%5D=100-200&phoneFilter%5Btariff_price%5D=25-35&phoneFilter%5Btariff_contractlength%5D=&phoneFilter%5Btariff_freeminutes%5D=&phoneFilter%5Btariff_data%5D=&phoneFilter%5Btariff_freetexts%5D=&phoneFilter%5Bgift_giftcode%5D=&phoneFilter%5Bgift_giftcode%5D=
Now go to cashback site to get discount on sim (uswitch- select life sim)
http://www.uswitch.com/mobiles/networks/life-mobile/sim_only_deals/
You can see there is a £6 a month option there if you think you wont use more than 1gb but its 3g data.
If you do not like vodafone you will pay about £70+ over the 2 year period to go to ee and best deal is 5gb data for it see post 17 for details.

I'll be paying £37.49 a month for 5gb. But only paid £40 up front. I won't include the cashback, so that's just under £3 a month more. Worth it to NOT be on vodafone.

Thanks OP, heat added.
So not for me But NOT voted down either.
24 x 37.49 = 899.76. Used a £10 code to pay £40 upfront = £939.76.
Minus topcashback of £50.50 (tracked earlier in week) = £889.26.
And as I did mine on wednesday, it includes the VR thing.

Best value 12 month contract is 10 gb data unlimited minutes, unlimited texts £64 a month with 47.25 cash back if it goes through. That equates to total cost of ownership of £720.75 over 12 months. Network is vodafone.
Buy sim free – best price of phone £619, rolling 30 day sim uswitch exclusive £10 pm =£739 total cost of ownership. This gets you 3000 minutes, unlimited texts and 3gb of data. network is life virtual operator.
Some of these deals end today folks
Equally, if people don't like "megaposts" that list information available elsewhere being classified as a deal, they've every right to give it a negative vote. If more people agree with you than they do with them (which they seemingly do) then the post will stay hot regardless.
Thanks
I am sorry if this was not clear for you. I have tried to make it a bit more clearer now in the first post, thanks for letting me know it was not clear for you and hopefully this will help you now.

For the phone
You can pay less for the s7 edge some sites are selling it for £619 but there is no vr headset with it but I have no idea if they are good or not (https://www.unlocked-mobiles.com/sim-free-mobile-phones/samsung-galaxy-s7-edge-sim-free-p-84950.html)
Think this may be the cheapest for those that don't use a lot of data and can afford to buy phone outright or through a 0% credit card option and dont want to be on vodafone. Life is on the ee network.
Thanks op
As always thanks everyone for your comments  Have a lovely evening and thanks for all your views.
Amazon giftcard, paypal, other specific retailers giftcards...or good old bacs.
Thanks guys.

Yes, I know launch day is the 11th, but Samsung promised them to everybody who pre-ordered early
Linky
Selling the Gear VR would have dropped the overall price of the phone.
Since the phones have now been released, the best S7 (non Edge) prices are £540 (MobilePhonesDirect) and £560 (Amazon).
I'll wait for it to drop below £500.
Can anyone who has received an S7 Edge from mobilephonesdirect.co.uk on Vodafone contract confirm if the handsets are GSM unlocked or locked to the network please?
I contacted mobilephonesdirect and they said they would be locked, but I would like confirmation from a user.
Many thanks!
