I have mine connected to my PC and the picture is excellent and clear. It has a setting to match the pixels to the full HD resolution like a monitor would ( just scan).
Like all monitors though , you must set your resolution output to the panels native resolution . 1920 x1080 for this TV.
If you output at a lower resolution the picture is not going to be as good - perhaps this is what you did on the digihome model.

Do you think this TV will be any good as a monitor (connected to laptop via HDMI) & also Chromecast - wont be used with a Sky box or any other digital box.

Had to return a Digihome as the display / text was very rough / jagged when connected to laptop

For cheepish and cheerful its great just dont expect the best black levels and there will be some frame drop, but most can live with that

See if you can find any UK firmware or get into service menu to change some setting to make the blacks better, only the USA firmware and service setting hacks were available :disappointed:

We don't have the set anymore, it was returned. maybe ask the other which have bought one on the thread. Ours from the sounds of it might have been faulty

Also watch Freeview HD on things such as Football, keep an eye out but it was not as bad as with high bitrate content like netflix and blurays. Its weird because you'd think it should be able to play them better and it would be poor sources causing the skips as previuosly bthought in the thread. To be fare i wasnt too bothered and could live with it but the fella just could do it...men lol

Try your Blurays, it was really bad in fast moving scenes, eg all the fight sequences in Pacific Rim.

Netflix was tried via firestick, chromecast and PS4 all with the same result and playing our BRRips via our HTPC (GTX 960 graphic via kodi and vlc)

It could be we got a dud unit?

Are you sure it's not just an issue with netflix? I don't have drops on mine.

Lesson for myself and the fella , you get what you pay for, if its too good to be true, it is just that

Having said that the TV is good for the price its just the frame rate drop, the grey...blacks were to be expected at this price
and backlight abit to high adds to it, with no service mode code found to try and sort anything out on google liek there is for the 39inch 4k sets Seiki do, so we couldnt even try and sort out the judder ourselves. Thus the decision to return after our testing

Anyhoo as we have high bitrate content majority of people dont and are happy with the "HD" streams from sources such as Kodi etc which are quite low and poor in our personal opinion but they will be judder and frame drop free

Thus in our eye not fit for the purpose, juddering frame drop, not good and a fault by design

But we are no brand snobs or have anything against cheap TVs etc etc

The main absurdity is that Turning a product On is considered "Used" and Value lost
the tw*t my fella spoke to said it was only a 50% refund though it says upto on the website

Even though I hadn't set it up just tried sources and has been packed up in the condition it was received
"open box" return ...not a Used return as they like to fob you off with especially with them encouraging you to use the product ...under the guise of troubleshooting

My fella refused to open the product up again and keep testing as the more they ask you to do, the more "used" it becomes when they ask you to troubleshoot etc etc. the telephone guy even laughed saying well obviously its used if you do what we ask....wth...Underhand tactics indeed

Now to stop anyone else ever going through this, please if ever you have to return anything to AO.com
that's electrical never say you've turned it on, just say you've opened the box and inspected the item
and there is something "wrong" with the appearance or whatever you'd like

Personally and from experiance, I have found their customer service to be about the best in the UK, on par with Amazon and John Lewis.

Just a word of Warning about AO.com , i bought this TV and unfortunately I cant live with the constant frame drop especially on Netflix Daredevil Season 2 it get beyond a joke. So I contacted AO.com as it only came last Wednesday and told them of the fault and it seems its a chipset that cant handle high bitstreams (not a poor HD freeview signal as suggested earlier in the thread) and they said as its been "used" as soon as you turn on a product, Its their policy on all electricals and I'm only entitled to 50% refund ....what the h*ll!!! Bunch of crooks kept trying to say Ive got old faulty HDMI cables etc etc. lets just forget the 14 day cooling of period, Long distance selling regulations and all manner of things

Anyhoo Just thought I'd warn you peops

Bought one of these for the kids' playroom last month. The picture quality is quite good for the price. I haven't noticed any motion blur, and this tv is mainly used for gaming with a PS4. The sound quality is excellent for a flatscreen tv. I have to keep it on number 3, as it goes very loud beyond that setting. It is also wall mounted and isn't too heavy. The bezel does feel a bit flimsy, but overall build quality is decent with a good array of inputs. The only tweak to the picture I made was increasing the contrast, as the black levels were a tad washed out. Then again I'm used to my plasma as the main tv, so a bit spoiled for picture quality. However, for such a low price this tv is really good.

Surprisingly fast delivery came yesterday morning. Setup was very simple, the stand looks abit cheap and flimsy but was to be expected for the price. It seems most of the money has gone into the panel itself, very good picture quality comparable to the refurb Sony I ordered. Sound is ridiculously loud can't have it above 3 or it blows your head off. For the price it's a bargain, can't understand how they can make them this cheap.

This is a fantastic TV Cheers OP. What a find for £159 I would put it more in the £250+ bracket. Excellent value great picture!! The audio isn't the best when turned up but what do you expect get yourself a soundbar! This TV is Made in the UK.

I bought one of the ones I posted from tesco on Saturday and the match was on on Sat night and it looked fine to me, however I wasn't watching it properly. I'll try to take more notice next time somethings on and see what its like :wink:

well if this tv is as good whilst playing fast motion and action scenes like football or f1,i would be astounded.hence the (reason) i personally would not have one.now that may not bother some people,and thats fine.unfortunately reviews from other sources dont recommend this tv.i come on here to give an informed and honest decision about certain products i come across,and have no allegiance to any particular manufacturer.we all have our own opinions,and if we share our observations together,hopefully it will be of use to our fellow shoppers.

Looking on the eBay listing it has a gaming mode seems quite promising for the price.

Just a note with the recording to USB stick. The tv has no delete file option, you must plug the USB stick into a PC to delete any of the tv shows you've recorded so maybe an issue for some people with no computer

I have this TV .
Freeview standard Def picture is good ( much better than the blurrry picture from Vestel sets )
Freeview HD picture is very good - but will stutter if you are in a poor signal area ( instead of pixelating like many TVs it drops frames instead ). Now in most cases this is better than the pixelated picture break up , but it is more noticeable on football.
Lots of inputs ( better than most budget sets - it actually has 2 USB sockets - not 1 as stated )
It does often have slow response to the remote ( common to many budget sets ).

Overall its a very good buy.

Review here. Picture seems to stutter as mentioned above and looks washed out but maybe it's not been setup properly. It also comes with an annoying blue light at the bottom which I assume you can't switch off.
