So with one day parking at the NEC a whopping £12 -- this deal might be useful. The nearby train station of Berkswell provides almost 100 free parking spaces, and sells direct tickets to Birmingham International Station (same building as NEC) // for £3.30 Adult and £1.65 Child. For example a family of 4 (2Ad 2Ch) will cost £9.90 compared to £12 at the NEC // Though its only a small saving, travelling this way is likely to be a lot easier. Hope this helped someone -- Max

If there are a number of you, is it cheaper to park at Birmingham International and walk through?
I have done this a few times and I'm sure it's around a fiver, albeit you then have a 10-15 minute walk to the halls.

depends how many of you travel: if only the 2 of you its still cheaper to free park and go on train. also for me the train stations are closer to my house than the actual nec.

anyway even by train you still have 10/15 minute walk although there are travelators now so takes less time

Or just find someone who is has a disabled badge and take them for a day out....they usually get free parking right next to the entrance and helpers sometimes get in at a reduce price/free.

Good tip for anyone on their own who wants to save on the £6 (after 11am) charge at BHI.
There's also 20 mins free parking at International - we use it for drop off / pick up - but after a concert there's a lot of parents doing the same thing.
If you do this look at Coventry line - else there will be changes and will take some time to get there / back.

Another free option is to check other events that are running concurrently at the NEC, not all events charge for parking, as an example we've found that antiques shows normally have free parking and use these when visiting say the Motor Show or Caravan Show (just examples) a little walk but OK.

Marston Green station is handy too, free parking £2.70 return to B'ham Int, trains run every 20 mins and it takes 5 mins

Don't forget that the shuttle buses are free at NEC - doesn't really matter which car park you park in

I plan to use Berkswell station next week for the gadget show. Does anybody know how busy the car park gets. Plan to get there around 10 but concerned the parking may be full.

we went to the vamps at the genting arena and paid £6 for all day parking at resorts world it's closer to nec exhibitions than international train station

I wondered what the cold voters know that I don't, but I tried it anyway. I paid £3 at Resorts World yesterday, parking long enough to visit Gadget Show Live and have a quick look round the shops. Thanks again, nikkik20!
