I am posting what looks like a decent deal for 2GB internet. One of the lowes cost over 24 months.
(TCB = £30.30/ £50.50 ; Quidco = £20/ £50 ) makes the deal cheaper.
FEBPAY16 reduces upfront cost.

This is more for people like me (still on the S4) who don't slavishly need to own the latest model all the time. I'd be quite happy with this for 2 years, and it'd be the first time I'd own a phone hot off the production line.

I am thinking of getting one of these and didnt see this option but saw the free phone on the vodafone network which I know everyone is really not happy with for think it was 65 a month over 12 months free handset with 10gb of data. I am not seeing if this company are doing the free vr headset does anyone know if they are or not? This does look a good deal £725 over 2 years if cash back does not track and seems better value than the vodafone if you are not going to use the 10gb of data.

CPW and Mobiles.co.uk seem to be the only companies with the free Gear VRs and they come with every pre-order, subject to availability. You can sell it on for about £60 to £70, making this a better deal.

Streaming video while travelling (twice a day) and downloading podcasts. I'm always surprised that 2gb is enough for some people. Nowadays you can watch HD quality on the move and have a world of options music and tv wise for free or very little outlay. Our options are getting better but the providers are making it harder to enjoy them to the full.

Been with Vodafone for 15yrs now and had the same number throughout. Tomorrow I'll be able to give my 30 day notice. Do I ask for the PAC code then and give it to EE once I've got it, or do I have to wait the 30 days before I can swap?
Very tempted by this deal.

say you give your 30 days, then port out after only 10, you will still be charged the full 30 days on your vodafone bill
that's the way it works when you leave ee at least, I'm sure other networks are the same
don't do it straight away with Vodafone, wait till you are actually out of contract with them, my friend did this and he was charged an early termination fee of £300 per number (he transferred out 2, and had another 2 to do but stopped when he saw the charges, they are dragging their feet in amending the charges now). He had also been with them for years, all they had to say was you were told of charges at the beginning of the contract, even though the advisor who provided the PAC said it was fine for him ot use it immediately.

Hi
How does that work then if I have 30 days to go?
For example.. I ring tomorrow and give my 30 day notice. I doubt they'll be able to offer me a good deal this year compared to what has just been posted.
They give me a PAC code.
I take out this deal. I assume I then ring EE and give them the PAC code after my phone has arrived, but lets say I've got 20 days left by then...

They'll charge for the full 30 days, they will send you a letter through the post a week or so after you've used your PAC code to confirm that you've left and that will also show your final bill and if you pay by direct debit then it will come out like normal otherwise you ring them and pay.

I'm in a similar situation to you, I can upgrade now but contract ends in 40 odd days. Looking on the EE upgrade link and the normal contracts are identical to them (i.e. no benefit for loyalty).
But I'm pretty sure this is a New Contract rather than only open to New Customers. So it's just timing it right.

Use the temp number, and then I'll have to ring voda again (as my current PAC runs out a couple of days before the contract ends) ask for the PAC again, and then transfer it.
Will there be any issues with getting a new PAC AFTER my contract has expired?
Or is there a time limit with the new provider before I'm stuck on the new number etc?

Simong_1984 to andyxwchow

Google Vodafone early termination charges, there are a few on MSE whom have experienced this. They charge you in advance, so when you are eligible to ask for the PAC code in month 11/23 you have already paid for it so they they should let you leave. But the case here is apparently that you can request it but cant use it till day 30, otherwise they charge you automatically. If you go past the 30 days, you have to get a new PAC, which is easy enough and should mean no nasty charges. I personally have left other providers the day after requesting the PAC and have had no issues, looks like Vodafone do it deliberately and it is looking like they don't know how to deal with it correctly, he will be leaving them though as they have stitched him up too many times.
Silver420
2 Mar 16#66
They said that even though Ive given the 30days notice the notice wont start until I use my PAC code so seems you cant win either way. I.e. wait till 30 days are up, then use PAC code, then have to wait 30 days for contract to end? :/
Either way, they've left notes on my account. Not sure what will happen mind nor how they can possibly get away with doing this if you are not in contract.
I have 30 days on my contact left. Phone should be with me on the 8th. I'll then use the PAC code. It will then take 30 days for my contract with Voda to end (this is already taking the mick) If they try and charge me for leaving 'early' which I have not done... there will be hell to pay.
The safe option seems to be like you say, wait, but then I have to pay another £37 for the 'privelage' of being able to leave. Their phone calls are all recorded, so that must stand for something if they have said 3 times today (1 being a supervisor) that I will not get charged?

2 Mar 16#70
you could provide the PAC to EE on the 29th/30th day so that way the PAC code is still valid and you don't have to call vodafone back again.
Silver420
2 Mar 16#71
But then I'd have to pay vodafone for 30 days from the day my PAC code was used. At least thats what they said on the phone. Hence you cant win.

2 Mar 16#73

wantoverneed
2 Mar 16#74
Sorry I feel like I need to clear this up for you because the adviser has made it complicated.
Giving 30 days notice on the account means they will close the account 30 days from today and to do that they would have asked for the termination fee upfront so they can close your account in 30 days.
If you've got your PAC code it's valid for 30 days and you can use it whenever you want but they will charge you till the end of your contract.
Silver420
2 Mar 16#75
Are you then saying there's no early exit fee like the other person has experienced?
wantoverneed
2 Mar 16#76
Yes that's right. The termination fee is a lot if say you've still got 6 months remaining on your contract and you use the PAC code.
I would just advise you to use cancel your direct debit with them after you've paid for your final month.
Silver420

2 Mar 16#79
the scenario for my friend was he was in the 30 days where he could ask for the PAC to transfer his number to another provider, once the PAC is used the number is transferred and the contract is finished, though you will get charged any remainder of the line rental (not a problem as Vodafone take payment in advance anyway).
The fact of using it on day 30 is that you have already paid up to that point so you are not paying extra.
But just pointing out his experience, though you might be OK.

This comes with 2 Samsung VR headsets and

They have waived the upfront handset cost and the monthly tariff for all of the above is £85p/m but I get a corporate discount through my work which will bring the cost down to £68.52p/m.

BT and EE still operate separately so the comment about not getting 2gb from EE for a tenner may be right. Yes the BT deal gives you the 2GB for a tenner(I got it for £7 on black Friday) but you must be a BT broadband customer or it will be £15. Also with BT you can only cap your spend once you go over your tariff by a minimum of £5. Saying all this, BT still suits me well.

Why is this now expired? I noticed that it no longer lists the free VR headset; have they removed this?

If you look on the Samsung website it says the free VR is exclusive to Carphone Warhouse and Vodafone. It'll be interesting if Mobiles.co.uk honour that they included it when you made your purchase. Without the VR it doesn't seem worth the preorder for me.

Mobiles.co.uk is a trading division of Carphone Warehouse, so as they're part of the same company the VR offer should stand, but we'll see I guess....

"whilst stocks last" could really mean anything, from they have hundreds/thousands in stock to just a dozen? This deal does seem to good to be true with the VR & cashback they are selling the S7 for cheaper than you can buy a year old S6?

I think it tracks at a lower price, then goes to £50 when confirmed by the retailers.

Can anyone advise on this.. (Being a pain I know)
I've pre-ordered this yet still cant work out if I prefer the edge over this. You'd think I'd have 14 days to make up my mind from when it arrived but according to Mobiles.co.uk I only have 14 days assuming I dont open/use the device. You'd think I could use it as I thought that was the law in regards to the 14 day bit?

Still umming and ahhing about this deal. But £25 a month (albeit with a handset cost and no VR anymore) it still seems like a very good deal. Is anyone still considering this? (I know the original offer's expired)....
Topper1900 to jonboyuk
11 Mar 16#171
If you want a S7 this is still the cheapest deal by around £50, even without the VR, which looks just a gimmick to me anyway.
jonboyuk
11 Mar 16#172
Agreed! Did it anyway, so thanks! (Wish I'd done it a week ago though :disappointed: ) Hey ho, anyone want to sell me their VR headset? Also, EE said for them to match that 24.99 a month detail they'd want £600 upfront. Yea right!
Opening post
(TCB = £30.30/ £50.50 ; Quidco = £20/ £50 ) makes the deal cheaper.
FEBPAY16 reduces upfront cost.

2GB is laughable.

Also comes with VR head set thingy.
EDIT: Just seen it on checkout. Can sell that for £50 on fleabay and get some money back on the upfront cost then... and with tcb it makes it even better!
Tempted... but contract not up until June... but wont be a better deal then... grrr...
aswell as on the homepage
None of the network providers are offering them.
2GB is laughable.
Every person has differing needs. 2gb is ample for most users who have wifi at home
Very tempted by this deal.
that's the way it works when you leave ee at least, I'm sure other networks are the same
http://ee.co.uk/help/getting-started/joining-ee/keeping-your-number
it's dead easy and you do it all online
Also I find public WiFi is often unreliable, apart from small businesses/pubs.
Me: Hi. I'd like to upgrade to this phone. What can you offer me?
Them: You can have that phone for xxx per month.
Me: Are you joking? Can I speak to retention please
Them: There is no retention deparment
Me: Every year you say this..
Me: Fine. I'd like to give my 30 days notice
Them: Ok, bye
2 weeks later... 'ring ring'
Me: Hello?
Vodafone: Hi. This is Voda retention...
Clearly the system works. No doubt they kid the "panic" group of customers, who for some bizarre reason trust what a salesperson is telling them on the phone just take the poor upgrade deal on the first phone call!
"No, but we can offer you the S7 for £249.99 at £44.99 per month"
Yeah, because I'm going to pay extra for slightly more...
You always see it on their facebook "deal" posts... people mention that its cheaper to go via CPW or Mobiles.co.uk and ee just ignore it... as do some facebook users who say "I've just signed up to this! (£44/month deal)...". Must be ee staff lol.
Voda: We wont. We dont have a retention team anymore
Me: Sure you dont..
Voda: Mobiles.co.uk wont give you the same service as us
Me: Thank god!
Voda: Oh. Ok, sorry you're leaving.
Me: See ya!
Why do they do this every year? Told them if they want to contact me with a better offer to do so by the 7th... I doubt they will. I bet they ring once its too late though.
A bit of a long way round but works
But I'm pretty sure this is a New Contract rather than only open to New Customers. So it's just timing it right.
Voda did offer me that and said it was a standard thing for them atm.
Will there be any issues with getting a new PAC AFTER my contract has expired?
Or is there a time limit with the new provider before I'm stuck on the new number etc?
Thanks for letting me know. Cant believe they are getting away with that!
you can't be 100% sure until it arrives
Giving 30 days notice on the account means they will close the account 30 days from today and to do that they would have asked for the termination fee upfront so they can close your account in 30 days.
If you've got your PAC code it's valid for 30 days and you can use it whenever you want but they will charge you till the end of your contract.
I would just advise you to use cancel your direct debit with them after you've paid for your final month.
Cheers though. Now all thats left is for retention to ring... and offer me the same deal for £20...
You can but hope lol.
Haha yes you can hope!
The fact of using it on day 30 is that you have already paid up to that point so you are not paying extra.
But just pointing out his experience, though you might be OK.

"Pre-order now and receive your phone and Gear VR 3 days early before the official launch on 11th March."
But my email says
"Good news, we are now expecting stock of the Samsung Galaxy S7 Black on the 8th March . No need for you to do anything, we'll confirm via email once your product has been dispatched. From there your order will be delivered by our couriers DPD"
If they are getting stock on the 8th.. How am I getting it on the 8th? I.e. 3 days early.
what network you're on. Network providers have a legal obligation to provide you with a PAC (Port Authorisation Code) to transfer your number wherever you want.
I have 2 phones for me and my wife and we are both looking to upgrade, the deal I am being offered with Vodafone is as follows:
2 x Samsung S7 32GB phones with unlimited minutes, unlimited texts and shared 10Gig of data.
This comes with 2 Samsung VR headsets and
a Speed6 tablet.
They have waived the upfront handset cost and the monthly tariff for all of the above is £85p/m but I get a corporate discount through my work which will bring the cost down to £68.52p/m.
I assume I should bite his hand off for this deal? Cheers
'Thank you for your recent order.
We have been unable to process your order today. We are working on this as a high priority and will contact you again to confirm if your order is successful together with full delivery tracking information, so there is no need to contact us.'
Problems with stock?
