That's happened to me before. seems a bit silly as people forget the post from weeks before giving the "heads up". The mods all seem to do different things. I've also noticed any when I've posted a duplicate that was had been hot it gets deleted in seconds..... when I posted a duplicate deal that was freezing no one bothered to delete that one.......

I would've voted hot, if I saw your post before someone delete it. Surprised why they did!
I need for the event to be mentioned short before it happens not over a month! Specially if you don't check every day.
yippee! so instead of 0.5% you get a whole 1%!
col996s to jco83

No you still get the same 0.5% but if you have collected say £10 this can be exchanged for £20 worth of goods!

I almost always have a 3x or 5x points voucher for my weekly shop along with a load of other vouchers which can be stacked. I would say that by using vouchers and spending around £75pw, I build up around £125 in points every year which makes it around 3% overall - so if you spend the points in a double up offer or the various cinema offers etc, then they can easily be worth 6%. Some people have Sainsburys bank cards or insurance policies which multiply all their points, so they get even better rates.

I posted yesterday and so did someone else, but the posts were removed. Not sure why as the deal posted by Chanchi was over a month old and as such a reposts are permitted. Perhaps a MOD could explain what's going on here

FYI got 2 vouchers (1x£10 and 1x£20 worth £20 and £40 respectively) and spent it on 2 items from the same department, total cost £60. Bargain.
I thought there was going to be a £40 voucher limit per department but I see its £40 voucher limit PER ITEM
Used it to get a few kids books and a toaster, last time they added points back as a bonus if I recall, so hoping they do that agan. They also printed me off a £3 off £30 when I got my vouchers, so £3 worth of stuff for free as well

If there is a promotion on price that has no impact on how you use voucher. The voucher is taken off the cost of the goods at till. So if the 6 bottles cost £8 each. With 25% off that works out at £36. Which means you could then use 3000 points to take off £30 at till. I have no idea what the actual prices are. I don't drink.

Burned 3000 points on GOT season 5 Blu ray. £30 on shelf. Worked out exactly right price for voucher. Used a triple points voucher too for an extra 90 points. Was only copy left on shelf. I got in store before 8am to make sure I got a copy. So effectively £15. Seems a good price.

The 0.5% assumes you have earned the points at base value. Savvy points players would have maximised the points rich promos e.g swipe and save.
Personally have spent just under 30 quid to get 150 quid base value of points worth 300 quid in the double up, so is a decent promo despite the limitations of the Nectar scheme.

Confirming that we weren't allowed two vouchers from the same Department - this is only policy though as returning a few hours later (with a different staff member) allowed me to just fine!
The girlfriend and I got 15 bottles of wine (including Prosecco, Port, and Chateauneuf) for £50 worth of nectar points (doubled up to two £40s and a £20) and an extra £3. So glad I sat on all my points for the last few years, especially as I only collect them from [cheap] fuel!

jnigel26 to BenderRodriguez
31 Mar 161#74
Not the point. Plus you have just admitted to getting points from Sainsbury's! :smirk:
Not 'everything' is overpriced! Find something in Sains you want that costs say 40quid (or combines up to 40). Electrical, toys (lots of kids and adults! love Lego)?, entertainment (dvd Blu-ray etc)? where it costs similar or a bit less elsewhere in other stores, get a voucher for 40 quid (get a voucher 4,000 points effectively 20 quid, but now worth double, ie 40 quid), grab your items.
You've then paid (in points) 20 quid and you've got items worth 40 quid! It is simple.
Even if you can find the items you want elsewhere for 20 quid, you'll have to get cash out of your pocket. Here you just give your points already accumulated.
I suppose you can keep your points for ever and not use them, or accumulate more and moan again?

AFAIK it's down to the staff member rather than a till prompt. So if someone hasn't been trained correctly or doesn't care, you can get away with things you shouldn't. Same goes for going over the £40 limit.

31 Mar 16#83
Didn't realise you can only do £20 per department. We wanted a TV but not much options so decided to get a sound bar & then found out we couldn't use the double up for the whole price. She didn't mention we could get the double ups over 3 days and use them in one go so can't be bothered now.
