Well if you prefer top quality vodka like Goose or Ciroc than I can recommend (again polish) Belvedere or J.A. Baczewski.

Yeah just as @flytip said. Try absolut or some Polish vodkas but avoid smirnoff (russian standard is not much better). Try "Grey Goose" if you want to taste masterpiece (but expensive). If you want to try something differend try polish "Żubrówka" with apple juice or "Żołądkowa gorzka" with black currant juice.

Destilation is the key.

Wouldn't touch Russian products with a barge pole!

It's much better than Smirnoff, it won't give you a headache the following morning.

What brands would you recommend? I've never really tried anything more expensive than Smirnoff.
