Lovely. Got the "KDL43W809CBU.A" at £269. Seems like the highest spec one of the three near that price. It's a slightly different colour than the one linked I think. But it's got 200 more Hz in processing rate, so get that one if in stock.
Hi. Was this this morning? I only ask because I put in an order for that precise model last week when this came up and they didn't honour it because they ran out of stock. I've left my order live on the chance they'll get stock in, so it'd be useful to know if you managed to buy one this morning in case they haven't put my name on one and feign ignorance.

I use PIA and have sideloaded their Android app onto my TV. It works okay, except being tipped over sideways from portrait mode and no option to choose which servers to connect to. The inability to chose server is going to be a pain when F1 starts and I need to track down local live feeds eg Australia for channel 10 to watch race 1 next weekend.

BristolBillyBob to zeez321
11 Mar 16#35
The one I bought has a slightly different code depending on the colour; there are two black models and one silver one. On the two black models, the stand (i.e. the bit that holds the telly up) is silver chrome on one, and a darker chrome on the other, so I guess 'dark c stand' means a dark chrome one?

Got mine today. 55x8509c. Original box, packaged as if new, literally not a mark on it. Set up, updated and watching a film on Sky hd within the hour. Picture is fantastic compared to my 7 year old Panny plasma. No one will know it's a refurb, delighted for £599. Can't wait to find some 4K material, hot from me!

If it helps, my 50 inch took a week to deliver, some people waited slightly longer. The order status is pointless as it still says "awaiting dispatch". Comms non existent until dispatch emails..
Actually its been awaiting return for a week and a half, but that's another story,

oh wow, how comes you're returning if you don't mind me asking?

The TV arrived with a crack in the back, right by the wall mount hole. And I want to wall mount it and don't want to risk it - it may be OK on 3 screws - or even that one may be able to take a screw as its not clear if its attached to the back of the TV or more securely attached to some kind of internal frame. But I think its a bit more than 'cosmetic damage' that could be expected. The cracked plastic also sticks out, so I'd need to bash it back flat. Don't want to do that really in case of further damage!
Could easily be transit damage. A few people have has issue with their TVs on that deal, and a lot had good ones too.
My local (invoice address) Sony store have always been polite and quick in answering my emails. But as yet no firm arrangements made to return. The TVs are sent and (presumably) returned to a central warehouse - and the comms to this place from a customer viewpoint are non existent (Sony Centre only)/central customer service is very poor.
Such a shame, but these things happen. If they'd handled the return better I'd wait it out and re-order when something suitable came up. Right now I've £379 on my CC and a TV in a box that I've not even plugged in!
But that's just some of us. There are a lot that got a good bargain, but nobody moans about something good!

14 Mar 16#54
Not quite sure its a nightmare yet. Just poor aftersales action. Its on credit card, I'm not prepared to pay interest on a return item so I'll just put it into dispute if they don't play ball.
It would have been a tremendous bargain had it all gone right!

My KDL43W809CBU arrived today. I ordered a week ago when they first appeared. It's in practically brand new condition, the only sign of wear being a scratch on the rear of the remote. Having set it up and figured out how to disable all - and there are loads - of the unnecessary image processing gimmicks, it looks fantastic. A little bit of uneven backlighting, but not noticeable 98% of the time. Basically, a complete steal for £270. Amazing!

Not surprised they come damaged my delivery guy was throwing it around in the van when taking it out. Luckily it was fine on opening but mine has pretty bad dirty screen effect, probably the reason it was returned. I'll have another go with it tomorrow but I think it will be going back.

Delivery took only about 3 days. Have to agree with some of the recent comments though the box looks like it had been bumped around quite a bit (they use UKMail looking at the reviews they arent so hot). After using it for a few days I did notice a small amount of light bleed by the sony logo but this is to be expected with a return/refurb.
