Got the 3d 50" for 329, was thinking about getting the 55" but I couldn't justify spending another £100 for 5" (insert **** joke here)

This TV is much better than 4K version on 95% of the stuff. Great blacks and not as many problems with bleeding and banding as x85 model. I think we are still far from need to get 4k tv and that is coming from someone with 4k model.

And how many 4K TV specifically this model have you tested?
That is too much a sweeping statement I believe and that is from someone with a 4k too, soon to be someone with 2 4Ks.

If you check any review or any forums you will find out how bad x85 model was. And seen few of them on display at various places and also my sister have got 50 inch verson of w805 and watched it quite a few times. On normal content is as good if not better than my samsung ju7000 and my tv was around 70% more new. I have quite a lot of 4k content as well, which majority of the people dont care about or care to download. But still watching lot of standard tv and full hd movies and even with lots of 4k stuff that is about 95% of what we watch on it. And quite sure many people will not even get to that figure. Dont get me wrong 4k is good and I like it, but unless we have plenty of content for normal person it does not make much of a difference.

Many thanks mate for that non abusive reply, that is something that is lacking so much on HUKD these days. Much appreciated.
I have the 55W955 which is the 2014 flagship , also the W8005C 55" 4K and I am kind of obsessed with 4k plus I have a 4k Camcorder and Action Cam. I have 4 kids under 11 and I love to record them everytime when I get the chance. And I also happen to have 100s of GIGS of 4k downloaded content, I am not so much concerned about transmitted content as I hardly ever watch live TV anyway. All the media I watch are contents I recorded or downloaded. I love my HD/4k contents and that is just me.

I do see you point completely and agree with you. As I said I do like 4K myself and have lot of content as well. I am just saying that for normal person watching skybox or standard freeview tv there is no reason at all to pay extra for 4k tv. Even looking forward I think it might take us good 3-5 years to get 4k mainstream and reasonably priced plus hopefully all the codecs and formats will settle by then.
I am personally more of a 3D fan than 4K and really sad that 3D is dying and not much supported.

For movies, I don't mind 3D, but for contents made myself, I ll stick with 1080p and 4k. It's annoying when you play a 3d movie and there isn't enough glasses to go round. I have 1080p home made movies I created when my twins were babies about 6 years ago, everytime I watch it, always glad I got the camera.
I only watch 3d only when am watching and I prefer passive to active as my eyes get fuzzy after a while watching active 3d stuffs.
