Apart from it was thoroughly tested on a rolling road on Fifth Gear and it restored 6 BHP to a 10 year old Volkswagen through the use of breaking up carbon deposits and improving through flow. They even adjusted for difference in temperature just to make sure.
But yeh...keep laughing at things you don't understand.

Thanks for posting. I’ve added the price and merchant to the title.
Here’s a ‘Help’ link which gives tips and advice on thread posting.

Lots of people say it doesn't actually do anything. gets my car through the emissions test tho.

It can help clean things, It "restores power", Not increases it etc..

I've used this for years and it does clean the cars fuel lines out. And restore the cars performance

For a triple pack ??
That is a bargain.
Don't expect to find elsewhere though single packs most stores stock cost more than this..

If you bring your fuel round to me, I'll clean it for £1 a tankful, due to the cleaning process involved you may not receive the full quantity back, but you'll get loads more Octons or whatever they call it, definitely get a lot more of those, so I reckon it will be worth it for me, I mean you definitely you and it's cheaper than this deal. I can also clean your wife if she's dirty as well.

This stuff is the biggest piece of ****. It does absolutely hee-haw, I laughed when I watched a boy use it in his 1.2 Polo the other day at the petrol station.

Yes, It's the ones that claim to "Increase your HP and Performance" that are usually wrong.
Their is a difference between restoring power and increasing it etc..

This worked on my car cleaning out the fuel system making it run smoother again when I had an issue. Not instant results but it certainly works.

Many years ago I worked in an engine test lab with a company that adds additives to fuel. Fuel companies aim for a combination of a number of factors in their fuel but you always paid more at the pump for the higher additive content in the "premium" higher octane fuels. A product like this doesn't have to work at a low level consistent and in tune with the other elements of your fuel. Think of it rather like teeth whitening where you may use on a daily basis a toothpaste that offers tooth whitening (this is your everyday fuel from the pump). This product is like going to the dentist for a programme of tooth whitening - it breaks down the stains and offers to return your teeth to a colour they should be.
Personally - I would be cautious over using continuously but only because fuel additives are trialled in very small quantities to offer the best combination of cleaning, emissions, fuel economy and price.
I use this every now and then to ensure my diesel injectors don't build up crud - this reduces your fuel air mix and there goes your bhp. Alternatively stick a 'premium' tank of fuel in your car every few fill ups.

My lawnmower broke down again, just picked it back up, engineer gave me a free one of this, says pour it in as instructed and will stop the carb getting clogged up again he blamed cheap fuel for causing the issues so yeah can't comment on cars but works for sure on lawnmowers

It is, as the label says a 'fuel cleaner'.
Very good for helping to clean out the fuel system, particularly fuel injectors. only needs to be used at most, once a month (if that) depending on the amount of driving you do (e.g. 10k per year).
Alternatively you could just fill your car's fuel tank to the brim with a premium quality fuel like shell v-power or bp ultimate. But again just once a month, depending on your mileage, or if you can afford to do so.
If you want better economy and/or performance you're probably better off getting another car or getting your current one remapped. Just make sure sure you do your homework.

So I usually use the Tesco Momentum 99 but had to settle for Asda generic unleaded and an engine light appeared on the dashboard - P0420 Catalyst System Efficiency Below Threshold (Bank 1) error supposedly. Looking on forums it seems to be cheap fuel that does it but I'm in a Suzuki swift sport, it recommends 97Ron+ you think something like this could clean the system out and get rid of the error?
shauneco
13 Mar 16#28
If you get that error it means your catalyst is faulty, You might be lucky and it might just be a lambda sensor carboned up, Changing that my get rid of the error temporarily but chances are it will come back.
Also if you delete the error code it will disappear for short period, It starts a monitoring process and once it is complete it'll throw the error code again.
You can't clean a catalyst whilst it's on the car, Some people remove them and clean them out with mixed results.
I've recently had to change my catalyst because of that fault, It was due to a misfire that the catalyst went faulty, It was running too rich with unburned fuel making it's way into the catalyst and igniting melting the catalysts insides :disappointed:.
Usually it's unburned fuel or oil that causes them to fail, Poor grade fuel is unlikely to damage a catalyst but cleaner fuel might keep the catalyst in the green zone but it would likely fail an mot on emissions still.

You show me a real engine stripped down and show me the condition of the injectors before you go about saying Redex is doing what it says on the tin. It's a load of ****. Fifth Gear did not show you an engine beforehand and the condition of it afterwards, all they showed you was an increase in BHP which could be from anything. This is not evidence.

Im confused as to why you quote me then and refer to power, at no point whatsoever did I mention power, I said that it did what it says on the tin, i.e. cleans.
If you are ensuring others who are confused re power/cleaning are put right, then quote them and aim comments there way, not mine.

I agree. people think its suppose to increase performance. yet what it does it keeps thee engine clean and free of carbon build up etc..
exactly as you say, keeps your car passing emissions tests
Opening post
