the missions online are brill

some great troll moments aswell. there is a mission where you float down a river on a raft and you cant leave the raft, one bloke lit some dynamite and started running around the raft suicide style it was brilliant watching everyone panic

Great that it's coming to Xbox One BC. I'd of probably preferred a remaster for either Ps4 or XB1. Even if from memory, it was a beautiful game to look at (even if it's 6 years ago) with all the rolling vistas. One of my last gen favourites.

When is it coming to backwards compatibility though? That is the question!

this game was great, superb single player and online lols. it could get a bit lonely out in the desert, grinding out wildcat kills or whatever, but then you'd come round a corner and see the sun rising over the mountains and it was beautiful.

i'd recommend getting the undead nightmare expansion too.

Proof that games are more powerful than movies; probably the greatest Western ever conceived.

If there's going to be a RDR remaster this is not coming to backward compatibility and I'm sorry but you don't have to be Alan 'rat from a sinking ship' Sugar to work that much out.

Why on earth would Take-Two/Rockstar agree to Microsoft giving punters the opportunity to play the last gen version of this game on current gen when they're about to drop a current gen remaster of it in preparation for RDR2?

The fact they opened it up to backward compatibility by mistake for about half an hour the other month and then immediately blocked it via a quick time panic patch as good as confirms what's going on there.

Oh and hello, there's also the small matter of the sudden spike in in the value of the 360 version of RDR when the industry believed it was coming to backward compatibility has all of a sudden nose-dived back to where it was around the turn of the year as this very deal illustrates..

Money makes the world go round and the only way the original RDR will turn an extra quid for the publishers/devs is through the remaster route so please wake up :stuck_out_tongue:

just got it for £2 off rakuten defo worth a punt, there may be a chance it will get remastered instead but it is a huge game compare to other games that are being remastered so it prob depends on cost and whether enough people will pay for them to get their cash back and make profit. so i personally think it will go backward compatibility

Probably will be free on Xbox live someday...

This has nothing to do with class or what football team we support, its a game, i have played and so have many others, all i was saying is there have been no confirmations that a remaster will happen, however there is very good evidence that BC will happen and since there are games that have received BC and remaster treatment on current gen so no reason why that would not happen...

I will just go back to what I initially said which is if they are going to bring a RDR remaster out they are 99.9% not going to allow backward compatibility.

Bringing PC and PS4 in to the equation as has been mentioned above makes the prospect of backward compatibilty of this title on Xbox One all the more less likely. Take-Two just won't do it, the only option they have and thus will take if they release a remaster is to release it on both current gen consoles and perhaps PC too.

If there's no remaster then perhaps it might appear on Xbone BC but come on, a remaster will pull in big big money and at the end of the day everything is about the money.

PS4 owner here and but I still play RDR on my trusty old 360. The BC list is getting ever more impressive on the XBone. Between this and Dark Souls you can't go wrong!

Wasn't the code for Red Dead Redemption so messed up that they couldn't port it to PC because of that? I don't see it getting a remaster update as the work would be too much surely

This is an exceptional game, probably my favourite of the 360/PS3 era and I absolutely can't wait for a sequel to come out (they have to make one.... right?).

This was a gorgeous game as well, so I can't begin to imagine what they will manage on the XOne/PS4. I don't really have any must buys, but it will be one.

I wonder if it's just me, but I always really loved the treasure hunts.

Didn't rockstar say BC is something they're not interested in. The person that was testing this game probably has access to the full 360 library so i wouldn't take it as 100% proof its coming to the xbox one.

didn't RDR appear for everyone by mistake for a few days a couple of months back, there was a way to go into a certain members profile and get the download link from there. MS revoked the licenses a few days later.

​From what i made of it, the guy who had the game was a paid tester for Microsoft, friends of his found a loop hole to download the game and the method quickly made it on to the internet. I'm not saying it will not come to backwards capability but I'm sure these testers have full access to the emulator to download anything they please including games Microsoft don't have permission to release to the public.
