It doesn't matter if the model is dependant on them or not - loads of games have huge and vast amounts of in app purchasing - fifa with ultimate team for example, doesn't mean you HAVE to use them to enjoy the game, and by all accounts you don't have to do in app purchases for this to enjoy the game either

Yep, Apologies for misinterpreting what I thought was a reference but suppose SP have covered almost everything by now. Freemium was one of the more recent ones. Current SP has a different set-up with overarching storylines and multi episode stories now BTW. Still hilarious IMO but for those not easily offended.
