No offense but how are these games in any way similar to Uncharted? You're comparing a third person action adventure game to two stealth games and two interactive story games. Good games but not necessarily something an Uncharted fan would enjoy.

Well they are PS3 games after all, I guess you only played them on PS4 expecting something new and different. Since you only borrowed them I suspect you didn't play them all the way through. Uncharted 1 has aged but 2 and 3 were 2 of the best PS3 games released - read all the reviews, you are in the minority in disliking them.
As far as gunplay, on PS3 there were multiplayer modes as well which were quite enjoyable - better than all the recent CODs anyway.
What gameplay isn't shallow when you boil it down? The Last of Us is totally linear, scripted and there is less to do - sneak around/distract zombie/kill zombie/run. Yes it had nice graphics as an end of gen game, but the story left me cold and it was a chore to finish.

Like i said you enjoy shallow gameplay. How you enjoyed the gunplay of Uncharted blows my mind as its worse than any game i've ever played whereas the gunplay in the Last of us was satisfying and felt powerful but in Uncharted it feels like plastic toys.
Theres barely any puzzles and the ones it does have are so easy a baby could figure it out, platforming sucks as its clunky, the graphics have aged badly but okay for a last gen game except the games are linear as a corridor so you would expect better anyway.
Most overrated franchise ever.

Nope, that is harsh on the Uncharted series. I enjoyed the puzzles, the platforming, the graphics, the story, the set pieces and the gunplay. The Last of Us boiled down to throwing bottles and sneaking past zombies which quickly got boring for me.

Great reminder of the storyline with enough time to play till 4 releases, can't wait for it to release it looks and plays like a GOTY. The multiplayer beta was fantastic (sooooo rewarding when playing with a proper team, not with prepubescent cod noobs going for K/D ratio and playing it like the ADHD type run and gun tripe they're used to) but this imo is mainly about the single player which could surpass the train and plane levels in awesomeness.

I loved it too but I did experience a lack of teamwork in some matches. 100% agree v COD as well. Seriously hope the multiplayer is well populated for a long time :smiley:

It's going to drop even more in about a month or two when UC4 is released. If you're not in any hurry I'd suggest waiting. Besides, a lot of us already have a stack of unplayed games to get through.

Still annoyed i picked up a PS3 6 months back to play through these before the new one came out. Having now picked up the original three games for buttons i'm thinking this may be worth the graphical upgrade :disappointed:

I loved playing through these again. The best thing is, my girlfriend watched me play every minute of them, and now she's working her way through. She never really games but now she's popping headshot after headshot on Among Thieves and laughing maniacally. Drake, you've created a monster.

I actually borrowed this from a friend for free and i have to say all three games have aged awfully. The story and setpieces are the only reasons to play them now as even the graphics look underwelming compared to current gen games and this exposes the gameplay which is very shallow and unsatisfying. The gunplay is just straight up trash and the worst gunplay I've ever experienced. I'll be avoiding Uncharted 4 now as thats obviously going to be more of the same. I seriously can't believe these are the same people who made unbelievably good The last of us.

i played all four on the ps4 for the first time and thought they were amazing. you could definitely see that they were made by the same developer. the story in UC becomes a little convoluted by the third game but you can see how the gameplay and epic story all came together in tlou
