Less than a tenner for the Day One Edition of Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain. Bargain.
Development powerhouse, Kojima Productions, continues forth the ‘METAL GEAR SOLID V Experience’ with the latest chapter, METAL GEAR SOLID V: The Phantom Pain. Ushering in a new era for the franchise with cutting-edge technology powered by the Fox Engine, MGSV: The Phantom Pain, will provide players a first-rate gaming experience as they are offered tactical freedom to carry out open-world missions.
Taking place nine years after the events of MGSV: Ground Zeroes and the fall of Mother Base, Snake a.k.a. Big Boss, awakes from a near decade-long coma. The game resumes the story in 1984, with the Cold War still as the backdrop, which continues to shape a global crisis. Snake’s journey takes him into a world where he is driven by a need for revenge and the pursuit of a shadow group, XOF.

Great price, even if it is the PS3 version.

I hear the ps3 version still runs great, and I'm not surprised after how well the PC port plays on old hardware.

I cannot find any conclusive evidence whether it's best to go digital or physical on the PS3 version, anyone know?... This is merely on a performance level... My gut tells me digital might be ever so slightly better than physical, UNLESS they [Konami/KPS] did a Rockstar [eg. GTA V] and have the disc & HDD working in harmony.

Arrghhh.... I swore to stop buying any more ps3 games so that I can finish what I have got left and then replace it with a ps4, but this deal is just too good.

If you don't plan on upgrading to the PS4 anytime soon then this is a good deal. Be warned however that the resolution isn't even 720p and the frame rate tanks to 15fps and below quite regularly.
The game was forced onto last-gen hardware and whilst it looks pretty good from a graphical perspective it suffers massively in terms of image quality and performance.

I've got it on PS3 and it looks good and runs smoothly, no issues at all. It's a great game by the way.

15FPS is an exaggeration. The game mostly ran fine for me and never went to that extent. Also, MGSV was originally going to be last gen game, judging from the first trailers for the game. But since current-gen hardware was released during its development, current-gen versions were the top priority. That doesn't to say the last-gen versions were left behind, far from it.
Last-gen versions of MGS5 were still made in-house by Kojima Productions, so this isn't a cynical case of it being outsourced to another team to do a crappy last-gen port, like Shadow of Mordor. But then again, Shadow of Mordor was a current-gen game that shouldn't have been ported to last gen. But with MGS5, it's clear that it was originally a last-gen game.
To those on the fence, if you don't own a current-gen console but have a PS3, get this game. I was on the fence originally during its release, but I bite the bullet and was happily satisfied with the game, all content was present and the experience for the most part was fine. Sunk in 100+ hours and loved it.
Obviously, the current-gen console/PC versions is the way to go for the best experience, with higher resolution and 60FPS, but if you only own a PS3, and can tolerate with a lower resolution and a game that runs mostly 25-30FPS during gameplay, with cutscenes running 20fps, then go for it. One of my favourite games of last year and no regrets playing it on PS3.

It's a standard, if not slightly changed comment. I'd personally take advice from some body who owns it (obviously I'm unsure if SFP_NooDLe does, but check the linked thread out)

Heat for the deal, great price. But imo after what they did to Kojima (even though there are rumours he did the Konami CEO's daughter) I wouldn't touch another game those scumbags Konami make ever again (not even PES although it blows FIFA away into the stratosphere).

I read that it was developed originally for the PS3 and the PS4 version doesn't offer any significant improvements graphically except framerate. If you look on comparisons on youtube, you will see this.

Agreed no issues with graphics and gameplay. Poster above is scaremongering. No point in investing in a PS4 to play it

to be fair, its a large enough download even when you have the disc.
My (pretty insignificant) dilemma is that I have both a PS3 and a PS4.
