It looks about right for the money, if it had been individual switched sockets I would have had one.

Switched sockets for similar money here (free delivery):
an electrian once told me its best not to use these multi adapters, is that rubbish?

You need to add up all the possible power you could pull through it, and not exceed the rating of the multiple adapter. For example, plugging an iron, two 3KW electric heaters and an iron could be asking for trouble - you would be ok with only one heater on but with both on it would be dangerous. Also when using a reeled extension, you are much safer to unreel all the cable as they will heat up and on the reel this can cause a fire.

Let's be realistic, it's not feasible to not use them these days...
How many sockets does your TV area require? Mine uses 11, which is insane. However they're not all full power devices, many of them are very lower power so it's fine that they all go via 1 extension cable.
For z info:
modem
router
raspberry pi
tv
soundbar
sub
modem2
router2
(Yes, I have 2 phone lines and 2 routers etc)
NAS
... the **** are the other 2 used for, I can't think but I know im using 11 as im using a full 10gang adapter + 1 more. Meh, cba to go look. Anyway there all fairly low power, and backuped up by surge protection + overheat cut off just incase.

Dont believe him if he has a bag full of one or two sockets with the brand name SWAG written in big letters on the carrier bag and he keeps nervously asking you if you want to buy. I certainly would not believe him.

Don't forget this has a fused plug, which reduces the continuous current draw to 13A (around 3kw), so you couldn't use much alongside a 3kw heater without the fuse blowing anyway.

Thanks for Link to CPC. Looks very good value post free.
I have 3 desktop computers,2 printers, powered USB hubs, multiple monitors, multiple powered external hard drives, Ethernet box, amplifier etc. I never have enough sockets, and often end up using an extension lead from another room.
I think I am all right, as most of these devices are fairly low power. The amp is not huge by HiFi standards, and the computers just have the fairly low capacity power supplies. No gaming rigs etc. have to use two gang sockets linked to one plug, but make sure only low powered devices are linked. The gang sockets are surge protected.
One tip for computer users. ALWAYS use mains powered USB hubs if you have several USB devices running at the same time. You will save yourself a lot of aggro. I get the ORICO hubs from China. These are not cheap, but the quality is very high. I find that most stuff from China is very good quality. Only restriction is to keep order value low. If you order something expensive, and get caught for Customs Duty it might not be cheaper than a European/UK supplier.
