It's a brilliant app but it's beyond irritating that they REFUSE TO ADD CHROMECAST SUPPORT for local streaming. It's not that they can't, they don't want to because they can only currently make it work with MP3. Why not just release that anyway, that will at least cater for most of the people using it. Pretty much every other music app has a cast button now.
3 months odd, well worth 50p of anyone's money though! Free if you use Google Rewards

Been my music player for a few years now. Great in so many ways but a few things annoy me these days. Like to go back to the song list from the player screen you can't just tap back, you have to tap the song title (i.e. a specific strip of the display) to get back to the album/playlist. Also, the auto artwork finder thing has got quite a few album artworks wrong and I can't work out how to correct those ones without having to so them all manually. Finally I wish there was a built in lyrics plug-in that could display/hide the lyrics any time and scroll them automatically with the music.
I tried Black Player which addresses most of those problems but, crucially, the sound output quality for some reason just isn't as good.

If you hold down on the album artwork, a menu pops up and you can choose the correct one (you can also choose higher res art).
I actually think the way you can specify album artwork is one of its best features.
Only thing I dislike about Poweramp is there's no way to boost the volume. I find certain audiobooks have lower volume, even on max.

What I don't like about this app is that I put all my music in folders and when it scans them in it can separate tracks from the folders, so I have many albums with only one song in. Not all folders have ID tags and for me there should be a simple option telling it not to separate songs from a folder.

I've been using this for some years now. Best music player I've ever used. The EQ is superb and even better is you can assign it to auto set the EQ based on connected equipment, which is great for the Bluetooth in my car which I prefer the EQ settings to be vastly different from my headphones. So many great tweaks!

That option in the Chromecast app settings is only available on Android 4.4.2 and up because casting is hard baked into the OS after that. I'm on an older version of Android and I don't have that option. When it routes the audio using that method I wonder if it's routing the analogue signal from the headphone jack or the digital file itself (like when you use an in app cast button).
It would just be easier if Poweramp just put the button in. It not like it's the hardest thing on earth for one the most downloaded music apps! What are they doing with all those 50p's?!

It's a glitch. You need to hover over the song and press delete. Once you do this an option will pop up and ask you to choose the location of the song and write access will be granted, allowing you to edit the metadata of the song. The song will not be deleted.

One of the best app's I own!
I started using it when google maps got rid of the individual volume control (which is now back), poweramp lets me set the pre-amp level lower than the phone volume so it doesn't overpower the nice lady telling me where to go.
I have it set so when I get into my car it launches on bluetooth detect with my radio and sets a 'car' preset on the equalizer.
Only issue I have had is since getting an LG G4 the audio sometimes stutters when the screen is off, I have upped the audio thread priority and the buffersize to see if this will solve it.

I did have the priority set higher and still had the issues a while ago but then the phone blew. Got a replacement and forgot to set it on this one. The ram is fine, I think it might be the way the LG prioritizes programs when the screen is off, if I set the screen to always on it's fine, it's the same on headphones/bluetooth/phone speaker.
Will try it out on the drive home

Thank you! I never thought to press and hold the artwork in the player screen, only in the folder/albums view. Wasn't aware of that option. Strangely, for example, the image that was in the album view for David Bowie's Blackstar was just a picture of Bowie. But in the player screen it was correct. Press and hold in the player screen lists a whole load of versions of the proper album cover but not this random picture of Bowie. Just selected one of them and problem solved.

I stopped using it after I found it wouldn't let me launch the App saying it couldn't contact their servers to verify that my license was valid even though I'd used it a few days previously and it was properly licensed. Normally it wouldn't have been a problem, but I was on a RyanAir flight at the time with "Flight Mode" on and I'd been intending to listen to my music on the plane to avoid the RyanAir tannoy announcement sales pitch barrage. Instead I ended up with a packet of crisps, a plastic 'cup' of luke-warm tea, scratchcards and considerably less money in my wallet than I had when we took off!
On a more serious note - can anyone recommend a good music player which has proper/decent ChromeCast support? The music app I replaced PowerAmp with (N7Player), whist very good, doesn't support ChromeCast Audio, so I'm looking for an alternative.

Love this app for the queuing on the fly and the equaliser and preamp options. significantly better and louder than standard Samsung music player once you fiddle with the settings.
