Also £5.99 at GAME pre-owned if your local has stock. Not great stock levels most places though.
Kept mine thankfully. Have 2x Move and 1x Nav controller. Thats should be enough. My local cash generator (Nottingham) selling new Cameras for £22 each, had a good 5. Cheapest you would find around i would say.

I'm amazed the new PS VR will use these PS3 Move controllers, I had them when I owned a PS3 and thought they were next to useless; inaccurate and ungainly. I also expected an upgraded camera to be released as the current PS4 camera isn't even as good as the Xbone Kinect, so again surprised that it will be good enough for the VR add on.

Just wait until everyone is complaining how much motion sickness the PSVR will cause. Prices will plummet and they'll end up unused like the Wii and the Playstation move or whatever else was a fad.
Kingsworth
16 Mar 16#51
No motion sickness for the vast majority as it runs at 120fps.
sweeten16
16 Mar 16#52
Pretty sure it has 90hz and 120hz as supported modes. Games at 90hz with frame drops could be a problem.
They're doing totally different things. Kinect is tracking objects 'free form' with no marker points to help it out while the PS Camera is looking for the lights on move, dual shock and VR units. Given enough data points it's relatively easy to track where an object is in space and how it's moving, especially if those data points are designed to be uniquely identifiable (check the light pattern on the PSVR, it's like that for a reason...). Considering this is the hardware that's been used in all of the recent demos there's no need for concern on that score. Kinect on the other hand relies on effectively flooding a room with IR and mapping a 3D model of the space based on IR distortions then updating that model to map movement. Vastly harder task, though demonstrably more nuanced if you can get it to work (coincidentally Kinect V2 is actually pretty damn good at this).
teddy1590
16 Mar 16#55
Pre-ordered the VR from Game last night (And shopto this morning as a backup for when Game inevitably screw it up), but I'm steering well clear of the move controllers until I see a game which requires them. Used the move back when it launched and it was just frustrating given how inaccurate it was. Reading about people's experience with the PS VR games has reinforced the opinion. http://www.gizmag.com/playstation-vr-review-hands-on-gdc/42321/
Main reason I'll bet getting one is to play PS4 games in the theatre mode, watching movies, and dabbling with the VR games that use a Dualshock. It's going to have to be an impressive looking game to tempt me back to the PS Move.
Although it wasn't revealed last year, I think it has a good chance of being revealed at this year's E3 conference.

350 for VR is a bit of a joke.
teddy1590
16 Mar 16#59
Why? You're getting a high quality, 120HZ OLED screen strapped to your face, along with the additional processing power to output at the required frame-rates. Not being a fanboy and blindly defending it (Have Ps4, Xbox, Pc and WiiU), but I'm genuinely interested in why people feel £350 is totally unreasonable.

Yeah and look at the release price for vita. PS tv. The original price for the ps4. Once they get enough released they will buy cheaper components and the price will be cheaper. Like yourself I pretty much have owned every console since back in the 80's. Have had numerous pc's tablets and laptops. Just saying 350 is bit too much. It's more expensive than the console...

Also looking at Sony EU we always get ripped. The US will get a release price around 399 USD. example That should be around 250 GBP. I will be in the US around the time of release and if they are compatible I will pick one up.

These will likely go up in price a little once PSVR is out, but £30-40? Really? No chance. Maybe £20 at a stretch. My local Cash Generator has these for £5 a pop regularly so might be worth checking your local and see what they're charging.

Cancel the sale PDQ and complain to eBay - listing clearly shows the Sony logo's on the item yet says it's not original. This breaks eBay rules on use of trademarks and logo's. They should be all over taking down listings like this.

What a pointless comment. Most tech becomes cheaper as time goes on. You pay a premium to have it first.
Samsung Gear VR + One of their newest phones is more expensive and you're stuck with play store games.
"I'm not impressed that new tech costs more on release and eventually will come down when said tech is cheaper as such i am unhappy that it isn't 2 years in the future when its cheaper"
teddy1590
16 Mar 16#78
Well the U.S price doesn't include sales tax, whereas the U.K price includes V.A.T. $399 converts to around £280. When you add on V.A.T, it comes to £336. So yeah, we're getting diddled for £14. It sucks, but let's face it, compared to most big international tech releases a 5% markup isn't actually so bad. As for the price going down over time, of course it will. DvD players used to sell for over a grand, 720p T.V's were £2000-£3000 just over 10 years ago.
Your point about being more expensive than the console is a fair one, but I can't imagine they're making huge profits on each unit at launch (They have gone on record as saying they aren't selling at a loss though). They've also said they're treating it similar to a console launch, so in all likelihood for the first 6 months to a year, most of their profit will be coming from software sales. If you were expecting this to be £200, you only have yourself to blame. There's some fairly decent R&D costs that have gone in to this tech, and when coupled with the cost of components, it seems unreasonable to expect them to sell it for £200.
brookysm
16 Mar 16#79
And again you're wide of the mark, by the time you have bought shipped and paid duty and VAT on one of these from the states you'd probably end up paying more than Sony are selling them for in the UK.
for brand new tech? I paid 500+ for my ps4 bundle on release day, its insides being standard PC hardware. I have no complaints atall about 350
rohitmkiller
17 Mar 16#84
Probably because it is possible to buy a ps4 for little more than £200. This makes the vr cost well over 1.5x the cost of the console itself.

18 Mar 16#87
Yeah, the and PS4 has been out for nearly 2 and a half years. In that time they've improved their manufacturing efficiency and the costs of components have dropped, meaning they can sell the console for less. In the same time frame this headset will probably be around the £200 mark. If you think it's expensive now, just wait a few years and pick it up when it hits a price you find reasonable. No need to cry on an online deals forum and decry the entire future of V.R.

99% of 3D movies are pretty poor quality though, and not worth the hassle over their 2D versions. I've had a 3D TV since 2011, and watched maybe 3 movies on it. The novelty quickly wore off. I've been loving the PSVR since I got it on Thursday.
