Old stock (Lux is discontinued), but nice price all the same. The difference in spec between Lux and White is minimal.

Are these "Stand alone" or do they require a hub of some sort?

They require a Hue Hub if you want to dim them, but otherwise will work like any other LED bulb with the on/off switch.

Definitely need the hub - might find ones on eBay where people brought additional starter packs on deals purely for the bulbs.

One left in Tesco Extra York, it stayed there too when realised you needed a Hub which was £90 for a basic starter kit of white only lights - what a rip!

Couldnt even find a space for them in coventry Ricoh. Nevermind. Also weirdly noticed the new version "Hue White" is now only £15 RRP vs the £30 they wanted for the "Lux". Odd.

Seen the Lux at £14.99 "normal" price in a few places but £30 was probably the RRP when first released, this sort of stuff is coming down in price so newer models having lower RRP isn't surprising. Retailer of course happy to show a bigger discount than it "really" is!
