Tried it off the wall and it sounds fine, when you wall mount it the speaker bounces off the wall making it sound echoey

Think i'm going to return it unless anyone wants it on here for £260?

I have a question , does the screen have a film protector on it as I can see the outer bezel does but also looks like the screen does also ?

Pic seem great nice and sharp cant see any ghosting and motion seems smoother than my old lcd just not loving the sound. I'll look into sound bars.

Also got mine today and made up with it. Picture is nice and clear from sky HD and I personally thing the sound is more than adequate I find if the treble is turned up and Bass is put below 50% then it's fine.

Wish I would have purchased 2 now one for the front room.......LiGhTfasT if you decide you don't want to keep it I might be interested in buying it depending location.

Im planning to wall mount mine but using a cantilever bracket. Fingers crossed it'll be ok

Got mine, picture is great but sound is horrible. It sounds muffled compared to my old LCD.

Yeh its really bugging me, its sort of got a sub woofer on the back of it and I dont think mounting it on the wall does the sound any good. I cant find a sky remote code for it either. I'm in 2 minds to ship it back for a refund and get something that sounds better. Doubt it will be cheap to send back though.

i would have been tempted to pull the trigger but the lack of finding reviews kills it for me.i would be concerned about motion rate for sports and f1,and remember it aint the old phillips from the past,if i recall correctly.

Always wanted an ambilight TV but does it only work with freeview or anything video input?

Well its a cheap update from an old toshiba LCD 42" and after looking at the energy consumption it should pay for it self after a while the old one was 205w. I'm glad its not smart I much prefer a separate device. Just a shame there are only 2 hdmi so i'll have a look for a switch.

I have one of these and I'm very pleased with it. It's cheap because it's not a smart TV and this model has been around for a year I think so it's likely to go end of life soon.

Does it do 1:1 Pixel mapping for the Pc ?

Anyone have this TV? Care to comment on the picture quality? Not concerned about smart features, just want something with great sound/picture for my folks :smiley:

I have seen recent Kickstarter campaigns for devices that emulate Ambilight effects. There is also a kodi box add-on which can deliver the Ambilight experience. So if anybody can't afford a new TV or justify purchasing one they might be interested in those cheaper alternatives. I'm still tempted by the TV at this price.

This is a good price, but I think it's a price to be expected as this is old tech now. I'm not saying it's bad just I think the price is about right for it.

might be a pricing error, argos are selling the 42" on their ebay site for £289

i'm quite tempted to pull the trigger as i could sell my current tv for £250, but the 70mm fatty puts me off

nice TV and Ambilight is great even if it is only on the left & right sides.
Problem is it doesn't receive HD Freeview channels

Of all the different TV gimmicks out there I have to say that I really really like Ambilight. It's good to have the room lit up at night with the Ambilight matching the coloured lights on the screen.

it's quite fat @ 70mm, might be important if you are wall mounting. i've got a 42" panasonic which is a few years old and that's 34mm. it's brand new so standard guarantee. as it's new you could be covered for upto six years under sales of goods act. i could share more info on this but last time i caught the wrath of someone and my helpfulness got dissected. have a google on sale of goods act.

Anyone have any user experience of this TV? Seems like an extraordinary price for what you are getting? Only downside I can see is just the 2 HDMI sockets and just the 12 months warranty.
