I use Misfit for teacking sleep and activity, Dashboard for controlling phone behaviour (silent, bluetooth, lost phone), NavMe for satnav guidance without looking at phone, and Unified Remote for PC control.

Got this from PC world post Xmas for £45. Great gadget, great battery life (just over a week between charges for me). Activity tracking, loads of watchfaces to choose from (currently running old school Casio). Got my wife a white one for her Birthday and far from being a technophile, she loves it.

Use the classic for sleep tracking now. Time steel for everyday use with up to ten day battery life.

I've been dithering over buying this for a week now. Any concerns over long term viability with pebble laying off staff? Worth a punt at 50 quid? Is the Sony smart watch 3 a better investment (but double the price)? Was even tempted by the moto 360 deal but at 189 was a more serious investment (and the flat tire issue put me off). Any advice welcome!

Considering this was first released in 2012 I don't think Pebble laying off staff will have any effect on support for this device. I'm honestly surprised it still retails for so much.
For anyone interested the Pebble Time Steel is rubbish. It's barely more functional than the original Pebble and it'll end up scratched to b*ggery within days no matter how careful you are with it. The only reason you'll continue to wear it is because you spent so much on it and when people ask about it you can warn/show them how terrible it is.

I bought the pebble from currys at xmas, resisted updating for a while and then took the plunge last week. Regrets, yeah! I don't like the timeline thing; wish I could reverse, hey ho! Still a great time piece and gadget. I bought another for my son; might give him mine and keep the new one with the old os!

It's £50.more for pebble time, which is obviously newer version, is it worth paying the extra for the newer watch?

For what I use mine for the original is all I need. Battery life is better on the original model. I'd recommend getting an original pebble seeing if it's for you then go for the pebble time steel or time steel round. The pebble time looks like a Fisher Price toy

I bought one in white from Amazon, and sure, it's just a gadget but if you have the cash spare it's good. (also the doctor who watchface is brilliant for geeks )

Word of warning I'd advise not updating to the latest firmware on the original pebble. Due to memory constraints all apps are kept on the phone to allow the increased app capacity. This causes problems if the connection between the phone and pebble gets disconnected. I'm sticking with the original firmware until they work out a way that removes the reliability of apps with the original pebble and the new firmware

Great value. I've ordered one as been thinking about getting this for some time and this is the best price I've seen it.
