5-6years protection for credit card payment? sorry b$@#!%t! You are protected as long as product warranty is. you can't get 6 years protection only because you used credit card.

True I also bought a Panasonic from John Lewis and still have it 8 years on. I don't know about PayPal warranty never tried never will hate the company nearly as much as eBay what other options are there ? My point is I had terrific service from Panasonic outlet for another tv I got which turns out was a vestel but honestly wasn't that bad but in the end had to return it and they couldn't be more helpful . Obviously I can't say that they will be like that everytime as you always get a few unhappy customers whether justified or not but personally I wouldn't hesitate buying from them again but just appreciate that it's like an open box sale at richer sounds ( eg damaged box , missing manual ) but I am happy to go without that if it's a lower price

I would want/expect a TV to last longer than 12 months - if it goes wrong at month 13 you have no comeback.
PayPal only gives about 45 days protection - so I NEVER use it on high-value items (£100+)
You get about 5-6yrs protection if pay with credit card but I always buy TVs from John Lewis as they give 5-yr guarantee and less hassle if goes wrong and fixed my TV within 2 days (arguing and paperwork with credit card company might take longer)
So buying something via PayPal with only 12-month warranty is a chance you take

I'm afraid 'refurbished' to me means 'second hand' and there's always a reason for putting things on ebay ... then they make you pay with PayPal that does not give you the same rights you have when paying directly by credit card

ebay is a useful tool for companies that don't want to set up their own 'outlet' site a-la Argos etc.
It's refurbed and sold by Panasonic and has 12 month warranty. Still useful if you want to save some dosh (more than £200)
But I get your drift

Just purchased the 48 inch version in the realist deal posted last week. It's going straight back unfortunately. 4K looks lovely in it, but the constant electrical buzz whilst displaying said video is enough to cause concern. Coupled with the awful artefacts within moving images.
Honestly thought I was getting a bargain, what a shame.

Its a decent price.
But its not a real Panasonic.
When this is mentioned, many start throwing accusations of 'badge snob' about.
But there is a reason why the distinction between Vestel Panasonic & real Panasonic needs to be made.
Personally, if there's something someone is selling that I really want, and the only option was Paypal, I'd still buy. But, if seller happens to give you the choice, then I'd choose to pay by CC.

Do not buy this Tv for ps4,input lag is around 100-200 ms on this TV ,no chance to play on any console or use this as PC monitor(except movies etc.)
I had this TV 40 inch and I have sent this back, one of the worst Tv I have seen in my life.

eBay and PayPal is very safe for a buyer, They will side with you 99% of the time. I've found this out from being a seller. Proof of delivery with their signature even isn't enough if the buyer says they havent got it.

As a buyer on ebay you really do have your sellers by the short and curlies then you have the option of opening up a dispute with PayPal for upto six months after purchase. As above you're pretty much fully covered.

Once received, items looked brand new. The only thing was neither came in original box.
