I've had Rab and North Face and like them both for hiking. Got various bits and bobs of North Face and their gortex jackets are good. I prefer my Rab down jacket than the North Face ones.

North Face is still hugely popular in the climbing community and the NF duffel is the most popular expedition bag in history.

Most of us lads in the British Army also buy North Face gear as well (or Rab).

As a north face tri-climate jacket owner, i can honestly say i find it superbly warm in the coldest of weather, and it keeps me bone dry. I couldn't give a fiddlers elbow if some people think it is chavvy.

Bear in mind that when you are purchasing these end of season 'good deals' you are STILL paying well over the odds for what is no better than craghoppers/regatta/C&A etc. This brand is now in its milking phase (BTW its you who is being 'milked'). If you really want quality, best go for a company trying to make a name for itself - this sort of thing https://www.alpkit.com/ but there are many others.

NF got purchased by Timberland so that's probably why quality has gone down. Thou never pay full price for either. The NF Outlet stores can have some good deals on the end of season sales as well that are better than this deal.

Have to agree on the quality part, used to be really high end gear, now it seems you can get better gear for the same price or even less. Theres no difference between a craghoppers gore tex coat and one from these except the north face is way more expensive. Il get shot by the north face crew but even some of the karrimoor gear holds up as good as this if not better
