The Luigi bundle was released in November 2013 and the 7.x firmware only came out in December 2013.

Not sure how long they'll have manufactured these for, but I'd imagine the installed firmware is pretty old.

No I'm simply asking where it's cheaper as your post implies it's not a 'hot deal'. The very essence of the site is posting items at their cheapest, thus a 'deal'. Regardless of your own perception if it is or not is irrelevent.

When compared to the 2ds with a game which is £79 unless there is some goose chase tesco deal about, or the £89 3ds on its own at tesco

The Nintendo 3DS contains two separate screens. The top screen is a 15:9 (5:3) autostereoscopic LCD screen with a display resolution of 800×240 pixels (400×240 pixels per eye, WQVGA).

If a phone had this screen resolution everyone would be saying what a load of carp!

I hit 'Like' on this comment by mistake. You're really missing the point of this device.

The vast majority of games available on mobile phones and tablets are poor quality and usually cash grabs through in-app purchases.

You cannot compare that to the quality of first party Nintendo titles.

Don't really get the cumbersome comments frequently posted by those who don't use a 3DS XL. It is not cumbersome in the slightest. It is very comfortable and nicer for the eyes than a tiny 3DS screen. Should trying holding a Wii U screen gamepad.

I got my daughter the genuine new 3DS XL and was very impressed.

To say any title on Android or iOS is of same quality is just ridiculous.

Good tho some may be the can and will cost an absolute fortune over time.

Defo recommend for the youngsters 100%

True, but in my experience the XL model is cumbersome and doesn't posses the SNES themed buttons and interchangeable faceplates AND the 'regular' size better designed (again, IMO) ergonomically.

If I were others - and I could, I'd recommend keeping the money and saving up the £20(ish) extra to get myself a New 3DS, better hardware, more future-proof AND those interchangeable faceplates are boss...I'm currently sporting the wood effect one.

They were a bit lazy with this one (and other bundled models). Could have had a print of Luigi's Mansion on the front, or backpack Luigi on the back, something, anything really. Not to shabby a deal though in current market.
