This is not the New 3ds is it?

I wonder if anyone could give me an advice. I'm thinking of buying Nintendo 3DS XL just for casual playing. Should I go for this new model or will the old model be satisfactory for occasional playing?

I have also heard that the old 3DS doesn't have very good 3D system and that the new one uses front camera for 3D which improved a lot.

So if for casual gameplay you'd recommend the old model, do you think I might as well go for the 2DS and save money?

I'm going to admit - I want to buy it just so I can play the Pokemon X/Y games.

So what would be the best option to go for? Casual gaming (you know, when travelling, when on the toilet, etc.) and only looking into it because of Pokemon X/Y games.

seriously tempted but already got a white 3ds xl. I did get a new 3ds xl to see what the 3d effect was like and didn't think it was much of an improvement so sent it back :disappointed:

I paid 130 for the new xl the new xl is a must now its so comfy to hold and the battery is great. 145 for a themed one with no game??? Ermm no.

Just got mine, dunno about carrierbags (mine came in a jiffy, with a DPD bag around it), box was slightly dented, but nothing crazy.

What's less good, is that mine had 2 dead pixels in one corner of the top screen. That to me is a bunch of BS, is it common?

They should really come in a cardboard box. Having said that, I received Majora's Mask special edition in a cardboard box from Nintendo and it was damaged - but the box was properly abused.

No dents here, but the edges of the box have some wear. Not great for collectors.

I got mine today also in a jiffy envelope in a plastic bag and mine too had a corner of the box dented. Bit p*ssed off that they sent it out unprotected but if i send it back i probably wont get another >:-(

I pre-ordered this one off Amazon as I had £65 free money from Quidco cash back and about 2 days ago I noticed there is 1 dead pixel at the top corner of the screen. It won't bother me in game play as it was very hard to spot, but it's a little bit annoying to have it on a brand new console that is less than 2 weeks old and I've treated it with kid gloves!
