Monster hunter 4 ultimate is superb in 3D. Always have it on for that.

Not that many seem to enjoy the 3-D, myself included. But its not forced on you, it can be disabled in the default/parental settings, or by setting the physical switch to off.
Is not so much about the 3DS or 3DS XL in terms of the 3-D, but just that any other console out there for playing 3DS games is so much better than what it is a clumsy, rigid and uncomfortable 2DS console. It is just horrendous to use, you can't even close it to protect the screens/controls.

i have no interest in the gimmick of 3d more interested in the great games. used to have a 3ds and it got to the point were i just had the 3d turned of all the time

For this sort of price point you could get a 3DS console off Ebay. Not worth what is a poor unit in the 2DS console just because its under fifty quid.
