I was having a wander around the momondo website and put in details of a trip to New York that I am planning for myself and my wife only to find this apparent price glitch with Icelandair on the STA booking platform - it is for a single traveller but you HUKD fanatics might be able to find some more. Even if you are not going it is worth voting hot just to see a £5,000 flight docked by 90% or so!

Really sorry if they won't honour the fare - just tried it again hours after posting and... still says first class both ways when you click through before paying. I have to say that I would have thought that you have had an invitation to treat (bit like seeing something in a shop window at a low price) and then you buy it based on the description. Shame on them if they do not honour it - they have had 9 hours to correct the issue!

Might as well have been £3.80, the fare never existed! :disappointed::disappointed:

Can't thank you enough, sierra111 !! I'm near Glasgow, so thought I'd try the same dates from GLA - got it for £409.73! Wonder if it will be honoured - I will update.

don't bother they won't honour it - just been on chat after I received my confirmation saying it is economy - they said it was an error as there is no first class on these flights
now I have to request a refund by email - hope I get it!
this was unfortunately too good to be true :disappointed:
Note that the flight is not non-stop but "1 stop" and takes about 9 hours instead of around 6 or 7 hours
You stop off in Iceland

Looks like they mainly fly narrow body 757s, so it'll be like short haul business - no lie flat seats, not much extra space and budget entertainment.
Still an OK deal if you wanted to spend some time in Iceland, as they allow up to 7 days stopover for free. But don't expect anything like BA business to new york.

Oh dear, though it was too good to be true. Received email confirmation but all flights are economy! I still have the web page confirmation showing each leg as First Class. Waiting for a call back from STA but it's not looking hopeful.

Quick search shows "Saga class" which is their version

SAGA class - bit like business class rather than first but close enough
Just tried it again and it looks like the outward is now Economy for that leg but the return is still showing First - as I say it wont be there for long!!

Looks like when it transfers you through to the STA site the fare class has been reset to Economy...

when you click through to STA, check the search as it states economy class and the icelandiair price shows up as economy.
