When asked to prove that their running shoes prevented injury none of the major brands were able to.
There is a difference between a really cheap, badly designed and made running shoe ... but once you've spent £30 there is no extra quality to have. "Cushioning" doesn't cost an extra £50. £100 running shoes are still made in third world sweatshops for £2. Once you are paying over £50 you are paying for image and advertising.

Not a daft comment at all tbh, just my opinion about these shoes. Trails can be for pavement as well I never said they weren't. Take the time to research them. I was just saying about the grip and the support on your ankle, if that's daft then by all means please by them and enjoy your run.
benjai
15 Mar 16#63
So do you actually run a lot? As in at least 50 miles a week (which is not a lot)? And you've tried that using shoes that cost under £30, over £50, and over £100? Or you've just made those up/read those figures online?
Because if you have and can recommend a £30 pair then I'm really interested. I'm not keen on spending near £100 every 4 months at all. But I'm not convinced that these particular model of NB shoes are really made for regular running.

Pretty ugly shoes, OK for the gym I guess but not running shoes, you can usually get shoes with rrp of £100 for £50 and I don't think you should spend less of you are running more than once in a blue moon.

I do agree there are some terrible running shoes out there (bought a pair from ebay for £12 which I'm sure had nails sticking into my feet), but you cant go wrong with these, as long as they are comfy there is no point in spending more, they wont make you run faster!

yeah, the price is really what matters when you go running, don't wanna be seen outside in a cheap pair.

A bit of a daft comment there. Trail shoes are good for trails. These are good for hitting the pavement. Most people who run take part in the latter, so no issues with that here.

Cheap and no grip what so ever! Might be ok now but just wait till it rains and you will find out the hard way. Dont get me wrong I love NB and have used them while I have been in the forces.
Like most people have said on here you don't need to spend silly amounts of money but do find a shoe thats going to give you enough grip and support on your ankle.
MT910V2 TRAIL RUNNING SHOES
610V2 TRAIL RUNNING SHOES
Those 2 shoes have been brilliant for me and yes newer version have come out and might be better but I'm more than happy with those, as I like my knees I tend to run in the woods so trial shoes are ideal for myself.
If your just going to wear these in the gym then boom ideal...but I wouldn't consider using them for road use.

As pointed out, there is a reason to spend more - namely cushioning and form reasons. Other trainers could make you run faster also as they could be lighter. But I'm sure these New Balance will be good for the majority of buyers.
As for sizing, pop into your local Sports Direct and try on a pair then hop back on the Internet when you know what size you need.

Geoblocking accounts and auto-rejects purchases if you've not been resident at your address for 3+ years? I can understand if you want a credit account, but for pre-paid purchases that's ridiculous. Nice price for a pair of runners, but they can **** off with their stupid payment POS check practices for pre-paid account creation.
