Everyone's favourite mcdonalds promotion returns for at least the 20-oddth year. Still as exciting as ever IMO. Remember to check for leftover packaging on tables many people don't peel. Also there's the drive-thru trick that apparently they don't ask for the stickers using that method.

A guy I worked with got into a right kerfuffle a few years ago – he found out by Googling that he'd got the rare sticker in the red set but he didn't have other 2 common stickers to make up the set!
It was the last day of the promotion and he drove from one branch to the next spending a fortune on food until he got the other 2 in the set.

I particularly love the quote from the organic campaigner where he criticises the fact that providing someone with that burger involves the employment of a 'vast army' of poor people. How dare McDonald's provide poor people with decent employment...
Incidently, I ate there today for lunch. Cheap, and it got me away from work for an bit (rather than using the canteen). Spent about a fiver. Won a bacon/sausage and egg mcmuffin, porridge or a hash brown and a medium soft drink. So pretty close to the value of my spend back then. Can't grumble at that.

I'd love to know the justification for the terrible seating arrangements most fastfood places have adopted recently.
Long 8-10 seating tables with half the seats empty because a family has taken it over and few people want to share tables, smaller individual tables where one side has regular seats and the other side has a bench, making you uncomfortably close to the people sitting at the next table...
It's not even a case of them cramming more people into the same space. The actual number of tables seem to have gone down compared to how they used to be.
Far too often I'll pop into a fast food place and leave because there aren't any tables where I won't be bumping shoulders with a stranger. I suppose I should give some thanks to the the fast food industry for encouraging me to eat healthier...

the hospitality industry is full of hacks to control people. Example, the seats in fast food places are always uncomfortable, to make you move on quicker. The exceptions are in the windows, so those seats are always full, and the place always looks busy.

I have got mixed views of McDonalds. Not my type of food and prefer something like Frankie & Bennys or a Chinese. Can't deny I don't enjoy a banana milkshake, or ice-cream. And kid loves it and take them all the time, and its relatively cheap.
My biggest gripe is why do the fries always have to come pre-salted? Why don't you get a choice? That seems a bit 2010ish now... can't believe that is going on.
simonturner69 to noahsdad
16 Mar 161#74
You just ask for fries without salt..
abigsmurf to noahsdad
16 Mar 161#75
Because most people prefer their fries with salt but, if you put the salt in packets instead, only a minority will actually add the salt. The number of people who don't like salted fries is smaller than the people who wouldn't be bothered to add their own salt so on a 'taste test' level, people who have pre-salted fries are on average, happier than unsalted.
Human behaviour is a funny thing.

Also often even when it is peeled people leave it in particular porridge and hash Browns. I think they don't want to get up that early or don't like it or don't realise you can use stickers on a different day /time! Also often stickers on floor people drop as so Tiny. I've got a porridge one from last year I didn't use so I'll use it this year. I get a thrill from all this. Love being hardcore.

Well, not getting into your spelling on 'wins'....
Back in 2000 or so, in America. MC (abbreviated) hired a 3rd party company to run the competition. They committed massive fraud and took all the top prizes themselves. After it was found out, MC sued this company... Then this company sued MC back on the premise they were not governed right by MC. The 3rd party company won....
So, thinking you might win something more than food or a tablet is stupid,

So sick of people moaning about macdonalds. Don't get me wrong it's not diet food, but it's chips, 100% british beef with salt and pepper, and a white bread bun! How do people not see its far better than most places you get a take away from, the drink is the worst part of it and coca cola is sold blooming everywhere!

Most of the product is fine apart from the buns. They do not make them locally and ship them in. Looking here (http://www.mcdonalds.co.uk/ukhome/whatmakesmcdonalds/questions/food/ingredients/do-any-of-your-products-contain-palm-oil.html) McDonald's has confessed they use palm oil in most buns.
