Not many left, instore only deal, but a steal of a price if your local has it.
New version (MCR511) adds bluetooth and has 5W less power.... for £80 more. But really, who would buy an amp/streamer for home use and feed it via bluetooth rather than DNLA?

Looks and sounds good to me. I bought the CR610 last year and this includes CD deck which I find I hardly use. Twinned this with Monitor Bronze BX2s (any other recommendations). This has FM, DAB and internet radio (both 510 & 610). Tempted to get one of these for the kitchen!

Perhaps a pair of Tannoy Mercury V1i's currently on clearance for £59.95 at Richer Sounds, they also have the Mordaunt Short M20's for £79.95 or you could try Superfi for the tried and tested classics in Wharfedale Diamond 9.1's for £99.95.

What branch are you buying in? Have a look at the clearance list there and see what they've got. Remember VIP members get extra 10% discount on clearance items.

Bought one of these for my g/f after being well-pleased with the preceeding Marantz MCR603, and am sorry to say it sounded pretty gutless through Dali Zensor 1 speakers...streaming flac files from a Synology NAS worked pretty well though, as did Internet radio. Just not very musical-sounding...okay for the money but no hi-fi bargain.

I've got the MCR-610 version of this, and it's a great bit of kit.
One thing to note, recently it wouldn't play internet radio or music from my NAS drive, due to a problem with a Marantz-based server, which suggests it was phoning home for whatever reason (why it would need to for local content, I've no idea), and it was two days before it was sorted.

This was last August. Just searched for my email to them. Same happened with several other products in the Denon/Marantz (D&M Holdings) stable. I had the exact same problem with the Denon DNP-720AE Network Streamer of which a temporary fix was to block internet access to their servers, asked them the question and had this response.....
The odd thing in that is even when selecting playback from the USB port it would poll their servers....it simply is not necessary for every menu option to poll their server first to check for updates.

Is it checking for codec updates on each input change?

Doubtful, firmware updates but unnecessary and not entirely convincing. You can block internet access although lose internet radio function, but if like me you just use it for NAS streaming it is quicker.
