I've never seen flights sub £300 to Pakistan - Islamabad so this is just a heads up. If you go via Skyscanner flights show up for £300 with Shaheen Airlines for various dates in May. Proceed From Skyscanner to book but may sure you pay in Pakistan Rupees PAK and it converts to under £300. I have friends heading to Pakistan for a wedding in May and they paid significantly more for flights. 32k of hold luggage included and 7kg hand luggage.
Typical media overhyping it as usual and people believing it. Safer than living in most of the ghetto places in england

Wow, can they do that? Turn someone away who has booked months in advance with a ticket? That's so bad!!!
What an odd report; detailed listing of places not to visit, and quite specific numbers of visitors, yet they say only that 'most' are trouble free.
What is 'most'? 51%, 75%, 99%???

All airlines over book and so do hotels on the basis that a % people will cancel/not turn up. That's how airlines/ hotels try to achieve max capacity / occupancy

Pakistanis can. you think that's bad ? I've seen a car crash people still alive yet onlookers rushing to take what they can of the dead and alive persons and you're talking about double booking. it's a shame to MANKIND.

I hope that in the few years since that happened they have improved. They are never going to be popular treating customers like that! I've never heard of the airline, it seems to be popular within Pakistan.

Do they?
I have never been refused a seat on any plane or a room in any hotel that I had a reservation for.
They don't need to overbook because you've paid for the ticket and you lose your money if you don't turn up.
If I remember correctly PIA refund £60 on a £500+ ticket for a no show

Shaheen airlines are not the national flag carrier and as such offer a well serviced for profit service. There will be a stop over which may be prolonged so be advise the journey can be linger than advertised. And in flight entertainment will be lacking, I will.aslo point out there demostic flight are dry so there may be no consumption of alcohol on board.
I travel to pakistan regularly for work and can say Islamabad and neighbouring rawalpindi are amazing cities and well worth a visit. You will need to apply for a visa before going if you don't have a Pakistani passport. Thanks OP great deal

Northern Pakistan in my opinion is one of the most beautiful areas you will ever see. The people are very welcoming, which goes against many misconceptions. However if everyone is gonna sit and read the worse part of every country in the world, we never leave our living rooms.

But I agree Nth Pak is indeed one of the most beautiful places in the World. Unfortunately it's out of reach to most now and only people that would really go there are ones visiting relatives in or around that area. A shame really. It's geographic location was it's downfall.
Flights with this airline to Islamabad start on 15th March, but I suppose some may have flown other routes and are judging the service accordingly.

I have wanted to go to Pakistan for years, but i am not willing to pay £104 for the visa when it's only 60 Euros if was French.
I know a lot of people will say why Pakistan, but the people are very welcoming and kashmir is beautiful. I have travelled a lot of the world (over 100 countries) and the places that people are scared or worried about are normally the best places. The friendliest people i have even made contact with were in Iran and Tajikistan (along the Afghanistan border) apart from my people from my second home (Philippines).
I am sure tourism would pick up if the visa fee was not so much... with tourism, brings cash...
Anyway, it's a great price, but just for a limited market.

One day I will go, I watched Walking the Himalayas recently and Pakistan is beautiful and very diverse with some very hospitable and enlightened people, and not all parts of Pakistan even wish to be part of Pakistan just like the UK. Obviously it has it's dark side, everywhere does. You can't judge the entire nation of Pakistan based on some of the bad apples you may of come across in the UK.
e.g Ignorant bully criminal youths with no legitimate license tearing about in dodgy hired Mercedes C63 AMG's, that drink, sell and do drugs on Eid but somehow claim they are muslim!.

As much as I still stand by what I previously said, I feel the need to add some balance as I was maybe a bit too positive.
Pakistan's dark side is very dark. Today a suicide bomber killed 38 Christians in a park on Easter Sunday (100's more wounded, the death toll will undoubtedly rise) . Absolutely sickening and I know any real Muslim would be equally disgusted.
Of course the same happens regularly with Sunni's killing Shia's and vice versa. Not to mention an EXTREMELY unfair justice/capital punishment system and other attacks against the many smaller Islamic sects, Ahmadi's, Sikhs, Zoroastrians, Hindhus, Bahai's and Atheists. Then you have abuse and murder against women and children, gay, lesbian and trans people. Animal abuse such as dog fighting, cock fighting and dancing bears is quite common. And then you have the caste system (yes I know India is more known for that and it is forbidden in Islam, but nevertheless it is very much alive and well in Pakistan, it was once all India after all).
Then you have all of the ethnic and tribal groups not to mention the political differences, corruption, class differences, and the governments army against nationalist's in Balochistan and other areas. A huge amount of heroin addiction, prostitution, begging and drug fueled killing. And then you have the interest's of USA, Saudi Arabia, India, Iran, China etc thrown in to the mix.
Of course none of this is unique to Pakistan, but it isn't just the media scaremongering. You do need to be aware and careful.
IMO if you dont look like the locals you'd have to be mad go there
- even if you have pakistani heritage it doesnt sound risk free

Yes been through the same visa and fees with my partner from the Philippines, about to go through our second visa. Coming from the other way i can go to the Philippines and get VOA (visa on arrival) - I think the british visa system is fair as it's the same for most third world countries.
Pakistan is missing a trick, if they lowered their visa cost - they would get more tourists, which is turn would create more jobs via hotels, restaurants more flights etc. Sadly a lot of nations such a pakistan and india do not think of the bigger picture and just want X cost per visitor.
If you look at india, they increased their visa cost and the number of visitors dropped (entire flights for an entire year were cancelled - it was Thompson if you want to research it) - they have now reduced the costs and tourist numbers are on the increase. (I am a british national, but i used to travel to India a lot as i love the culture - i stopped going once the visa cost increased)
Simple answer yes i know about the UK visa and yes it is fair, if the visa cost was only £50 - how many people would overstay the visa to live here? / afford to stay & travel in the UK for for 2 weeks... remember the cost is high to ensure that they can afford to visit here without using public funds. If you live/work in Pakistan you must be very wealthy by their standards to afford to stay in London for 2 weeks and go to tourist sights. The average wage in Pakistan per month is $255 - that is 1 night in a 3/4 star hotel in London, a little more for a filipino - so this is why they are also subject to this.
