Rent a car (VERY cheap in Florida) and use motels along the way. Cross to gulf coast (Tampa/St Pete) then drive down western side to Naples (lovely place) with plenty to see en route; across to Everglades (lots of wildlife visible as it's dry season and they congregate at remaining water); drive out along The Keys to Key West (fascinating drive and Key West great for people watching!); back up east coast via Miami, etc. and maybe Cape Canaveral. A couple of days by a pool at the end.
Did similar in 9 days, 1600 miles with no stress. Easy driving with warm temperatures, low humidity and no bugs (unlike summer). Americans get out of Florida in summer, return Oct to spring.

Get the Brits Guide to Orlando on Amazon (other guides and book retailers are available), it's a really good go to book and updated each year.

We're all saved, the grammar police are here! Thank you for pointing this out to us all.
Unfortunately, your use of capital letters let you down.

this is still a busy time but not as busy as this week would have been. check disney crowd calendars for more information. I use to work for Disney world in Florida and now wrote a Orlando Florida Guide which is regularly updated.

So did the kids who haven't had their 2 week break yet go to school on Friday and today? Thought not.
So how are all these Lancashire kids going to make up those 2 lost days?? Just more evidence that the DoE's 'everyday is precious' mantra is pure ****

I'm sure it will be made up at some point- maybe shorter summer! It's never normally different from everyone else's - it's only happened this once! To be honest I would think going to disney is much more educational than lots of the stuff they do in school!

Schools have to be in a certain number of days a year so the two days of Good Friday and BH Monday will be taken into account.

Depends what you're into of course - by their very name though Busch "Gardens" are not just about the rollercoasters - though of course that's what tends to rake the money in for them. Orlando as a whole though would seem to be pretty much set up as a touristy kind of place - not exactly a historical site seeing touring destination. And I've absolutely nothing against those either.

But only if you really must spend days at expensive, contrived entertainment (though, of its kind, it's usually well done). The cost of entry will get you to so many more interesting places.

After going last year I'd avoid sea world.
The place was completely dead and atmosphere nowhere near like it was prior to a certain film.
Don't rule out universal. The Harry Potter set up is amazing (even for non potter fans like myself)

Some schools in Lancashire are on their two weeks now but some schools are off w/c 11th April for two weeks. They didn't feel it was enough time from the Feb school hols to have two weeks off so soon.

There's MUCH more to Florida than Disney!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Wonderful place to explore at this time of the year. Only mad dogs and Englishmen go in mid summer.

Alternative airports and dates are available from this thread as well. Just had a quick look and the prices are still about this price.
Very tempting. We went to Dusney this time 2 years ago, not as busy as we thought it was going to be and we had a great time.

Watching a Floridian's YouTube vids - i.e. someone who lives there AND has a Disney Annual Pass - I can assure you that it is NOT any less busy at this time of year. :stuck_out_tongue:
