LCD technologies have inherent flaws and limitations and although the displays have got better, saying that they are better than plasma is a push.
OLED looks very good and surpasses plasma on several key benchmarks but the jury is still out on longevity.

That said, this is still a hell of a lot of TV for the money.

​well most new sets still habe light bleed and motion issues which plamsa dont .

next tv for me has to have hdr and oled 4k other wise it will be a back step from high end plasma quailty

Got this in Nov2015 for this price from Currys, For the money no regrets, best value, Smart functions are very easy to use, Calibrated using Know How Plus, seems colours are very good. 720P and above is brilliant, standard SKY channels are watchable from 3-4 meters. Went up from plasma 50" to 4K 60", Picture is better than plasma.

hows the motion handling like football?

i've read that the 860v is awful with sports and fast moving scenes.

Old model, better of paying the extra for a HDR model

The motion handling is a real concern. I bought my Dad at 55" LG 4k and it gave him motion sickness! :neutral_face: Had to take that one back.

Isnt the Plasma being better old now? It's 2016, TV tech has moved on and got better since then.

Its about the TV in question.The 4k Oled you refer to is nearly treble the price .How do you know the guys plasma was not a top spec one .I wish people would give honest reviews on the TV in question to help potential buyers rather than quoting their wish list TV which has no relevance to this deal at all.

Seems like a very good price for this size of TV, regardless of some less than perfect reviews.
I don't think I've seen a 60inch, 2015 model, well known branded TV in this price range outside of lightning deals.
Anyone know what the processor power is like on this? How well does it upscale HD content?

people judge televisions to easily, you can get a led tv anywhere from £200 - £10000, and plasmas where the same at the time, the best plasma I witnessed was a pioneer kuro, no motion sickness or light bleed , but then again a mate has a 50 inch sony and thats amazing, I have a 720p plasma 50 inch , and it does me fine, I have a samsung led in the bedroom, when watching full HD it is amazing but standard its awfull , just remember it was better than 1985 when we had a 21" tv with wood on the sides

My previous Sony had MotionFlo or whatever it was called and that was very unnatural and not nice to watch. Turned it off and all was fine.

We also got this TV in the Curry's BF Sale and hand on heart we've not been disappointed by it once. Yes of course there are better TV's out there, but for the price we paid it's perfect, I'm no expert but we've not noticed any issues with Lag, we use it and my kids use it regularly with XBOX One and I am sure the "Purest" will argue against that but all I can do is share my own real world experience. The Web OS is brilliant, really easy to use, and it boots noticeably fast in comparison to a relatively new Sony Bravia we have in another room. It was easy to wall mount but also looked good on the stand.

I think if you are after a 60" TV and have a budget then this is a good buy. We paid the same price but also had another £124.90 off via Quidco, although we are still waiting for that to be paid!

And some people are just sheep! Plasma like crt before it hit somewhat of a wall and cost far more than LCD to produce but at the same time a "bad" plasma outdid a "bad" lcd tv had research continued plasma would at least keep up with changes much like that tech that merged the best things about crt and lcd back around 2009 but consumer support wasn't there (they just wanted cheap thin tvs)

CRT itself gets a lot of wrongful hate outside of its weight and shape, it counts what you use as original source, I have played modern films on a 480p through component and the colours are so vivid that its amazing people have even thought its a 1080p screen, but then show a old film or show on it and it looks bad quality.

LCD/LED is much better for pc usage as text is crisp and sharp, OLED is the best type you get.

So plasma is such a inferior technology even though they have better motion and colours than a vast number of lcds? (and im not talking about artificial colour saturation)

There is some lcds better than plasmas that is clear but people get so mixed up.

i have a 8 yr old LG plasma - picture is spot on, wouldnt swap it for picture quality at the moment
