Popped into Tesco Sidcup they have reduced all the Legs lamb to £5ish, £2.50 kilo.They had loads left at 2.30pm.

my other half got a couple of these legs of lamb - reduced to just over £5 - yesterday just after lunch time in Heswall. Apparently there were about 30/40 there but went quickly. They were dated as the 4th April so she was well happy :laughing:

If it is New Zealand, it it halal slaughtered. They do not label or stamp it for export to EU markets- that is only reserved for islamic countries like saudi and malaysia. But all export lamb/ mutton products from NZ are halal slaughtered. If you want to do some "hoping", try the local "halal" butchers shop. Over 80% cannot be traced to a halal source. The only verification that the meat halal is the meat is that it is sitting in Abdul's dirty halal butchers shop and it has a stamp on it that Abdul stamped himself. I take my chances with Sainsburys, Tesco and Lidl with their NZ lamb, thanks

Yeah, I agree. I never buy anything from halal butchers ever now. Sainsbury, Tesco, lidl provide me with halal chicken and halal New Zealand lamb. No need to be ripped off by halal butchers- most of their meat can't even be traced to a halal source- so Sainsbury and Tesco are more reliable halal meat suppliers.
