Has anyone seen a good lot of these lately? (Or any??). I'm a teacher in a primary school and have been looking to buy one for each of the children in the school (we had various Easter activities during the week). Due to the Lego movie/games/etc I've got a lot of Lego fans I see everyday! I'm not looking to spend eBay extortionate prices but if anyone can please keep an eye out for me i'd appreciate it. I'm looking for as many as possible (approx 100). Happy to pay a finders fee and postage.

So, there I was today...minding my own business - getting some groceries at my local Sainsburys. I already looked for this deal several times before, and there were none to be found. Today - they were there. Very odd as they had none after Easter. So, what else could I do? I could not just walk past them now could I? I had to buy some....ok, a lot - at 5 per transaction...it took a while for the 10 transactions. :smiley:

Still full price when scanned in Calcot - no wonder they have 3,224 of them left! I'm now glad that I didn't see them for £1 as they are selling for under RRP on eBay which makes it pointless after fees and packing. Also, any buyer that receives the slightest dent in the box will create merry hell. However, the interest will soon be gone and I'm glad that I didn't follow the other eBay sheep.

They had a full case left in the back in west monkseaton, none on the shelves but they restocked after I asked, easily 40 to 50 left when I left, although a queue seemed to be forming behind me getting mine lol.

About 1 or 2 trays full left at York Monks Cross. On the end of last till (furthest from entrance)

About thirty in the toy section in Newcastle (Benton). Still priced at £4 on the shelf, but scan through at £1. I bought one and only one :wink:

I know 210 is overkill for what I need for my wedding. BUT we are not sure how many we do need. So rather than struggle to buy more if we had too little we bought more than needed. I know this because that photo off FB is mine. Obvious really given my response to the person taking the photo off FB.

Still £4 each at Calcot when I finished my weekly shop 4pm on 28MAR. I asked if they are being discounted to match lesser branches and the answer was "No!" as they are selling like hot cakes. I admit, I'd have cleared the lot at £1 but, bought none.

The thing is, people are going in Sainsburys and seeing £5 notes for sale at £1. How people can HATE the people snapping these all up is beyond me, we all need money as sad as it seems. If I were in Sainsbury's this second and they were all a quid I'd probably buy the lot, knowing for a fact I could double my money at the very minimum

Got free like one month ago in lego store sold it for £8 which covered some of the £17 outlay. Wont get that high again ever.

I just happened to be in sainsburys today in Exeter and stumbled upon these, bought my daughter one who was with me and she loves her chicken man! Probably around 30 on the shelf

Was out all day but made it to Sainsburys just in time to get the last one. Thanks for the heads up. Was hoping this would be reduced. Almost got as part of the 'free with £15 spend' promo but found the sets I wanted cheaper elsewhere.

If you all just blind to see you can make around £7 per chicken and that for some people lego is business and their livelihood thats to bad. So any around MK41 dont bother, picked up just under 400 from 7 stores in the area..

Well I bought 3 for next easter for my kids from Sevenoaks store so thanks for posting OP. For info: in sevenoaks store they are near the tills and are still priced at £4 but scan at £1.

I agree putting them on eBay is a waste of time. Never said they would go to eBay though, you just assumed that.

Also to all the moaners who have complained on this post and others like it about people buying to resell, making money is one of the oldest professions in the book. Chances are if it wasn't for people buying large amounts of stock off the shelves to resell a lot of it would get sent to a distributor to, guess what, sell to someone who will make money. So get off your high horses and live in the real world.

It's frustrating that people buy 40 at a time when others would genuinely just like one or 2 for their kids. But at a profit of a few pounds each after taking into account eBay and PayPal fees, postage costs, not to mention the time taken to list them on eBay, package them and post them, those buyers aren't going to make more than the minimum wage!

I only put the comment about scalpers as Lego deals are notorious for attracting them, I was just saying that if you wanted one of the minifigs, get there quick as the shelf is likely to get cleared, whether posted on here or not :wink:

I never said such a thing. Wasn't really trying to make a point, I was just making a 'comment', which is what the box i'm filling out is called.

If I were to have a point, it would be that there's no use complaining (or in this case mentioning) that scalpers will come and get these, as probably all of the scalpers in the country look at this website for that specific purpse.

If you were too truely worried about scalpers getting something cheap, the solution would be to not post it on here where they can all see it.

If I see a nationwide offer on a quiche, am I ok to post it or should I keep it to myself in case the quiche scalpers buy them all up? :smirk:
