I'm feeling like I need to upgrade my dual display by adding another couple of monitors.

I have had one of these for 3 years. Awesome piece of kit. Get 4 monitors from NRG and you are away.

mount is solid, you wont have any problems, these are really well made for the money.

I agree with Rich, spread the weight with a piece of wood as described if you are concerned.

It's a good deal for a square array of monitors, but for other usage environments I'd always recommend individual stands for each monitor, it helps to distribute the load.

If you're worried about the desk just pickup some scrap ply from your local word yard make it something like double the surface area of the mount and stick it between the mount & the desk to spread the weight, if you were being super careful you could screw the brace down first.
No reason any desk can't hold the weight of this given a little prep work

I imagine you'd have to be using something unusually thin and/or poor quality for that to happen. I've got it attached to a 15mm Tesco chipboard desk and it's absolutely fine.

To be fair, it's not the mount that you'll need to be concerned with but the desk. Your ordinary chipboard top will collapse with the force of those screws done tight and the end weight. I'm using the three monitor setup and you tend to over tighten to be sure.

I have one of these and it is great. Currently holding two HP Z27X monitors which are very heavy units. have had 4 screens on it in the past. Was really surprised at how good it was for the money. Great Purchase. You need to have a nice strong desk to support.

It's been this price for months. I got two, strangely one is better than the other. I got them at the same time so I expected them to be the same, I was sent a third but this was the lower quality type so I sent it back. The general quality is low, every on the better of the two I have. It's ok for lightweight screens but needs constant adjustment and tightening of the screws.
I'd recommend to spend more on better quality, in the long run it's less hassle.

They've had them at this price for a while but it's a good product. I couldn't really work out what the maximum monitor size is though. I have a two monitor stand and had originally hoped to have the two above the two on the desk but it's not high enough, this might work.

Only reason why I never got this type as I would prefer a proper stand

Not bad price but for holding 4 monitors (worth £300+) they could make better mount :

Good point. It's an oldish desk though so I'll be going belt and braces and bolting it right on rather than relying on the thumbscrews alone!
