According to this Daily Telegraph feature, Coconut Oil is safest for cooking with as it releases far less toxic cancer-causing chemicals than sunflower or corn oils.
this is not a good oil. if you want coconut oil for your hair or skin than remember to buy organic, COLD PRESSED one. otherwise no benefit at alk

I did a lot of research in to different coconut oils and This doesn't have health benefits that the more expensive ones have so I wouldn't recommend it to eat/use for cooking. I however recommend it for using on your hair, skin, nails etc for this price you can't go wrong :-)

bought this from ebay other day it has no smell at all googled it and it says no smell means it has been refined so how can it be 100% pure, sorry but if refined doesn't that mean it not pure why take away the smell of coconut oil

I just use it for a hair treatment before washing on the ends (works brilliantly) and for skin moisturiser (same) - and occasion ly for popcorn!!

It depends on the chain length of a fat as to whether it's 'bad'. The most abundant fat in coconut oil, over 50% of it is lauric acid which was classed as a medium chain but it turns out that isn't true and it gets processed by the liver just like any other long chain ('bad') fat. Of its fat content 85% is long chain. It has a few good fats but that makes coconut oil good for you in the way that putting a slice of lemon in a bottle of beer makes it good for you.

Saturated fat being bad is so yesterday! Things have moved on haven't they? Just like cholesterol is no longer the dietary villain it was once made out to be.
Heat for the deal, good price. KTC blurb claims that they extract the oil healthier way. I forgot the details.

Go to 36 and a half minutes through this podcast to listen to what the dietitian Professor Clare Collins has to say about eating coconut oil. Twice the saturated fat of bacon and not remotely healthy. Good for rubbing all over yourself, though!
