Just been in Tesco they had these lightning cables in Black, Red, White, Yellow and Pink, they seem better made than the typical poundshop cables, cant moan at a quid especially for Tesco, they had plenty in stock at Tesco Hindley earlier.

It's a cable not a charger.

Yes CE certified and edited for those fussy people, charging cable and not charger

Good price; worth updating your title though to state that it's more specifically a Lightning cable. It's also good for the IPod touch 5th and 6th generations plus the iPad 4 as well.

Cold from me sorry OP' had one of these a while back and it was crap' charged for a week or two then the usual ' this device isn't supported and may (will) not charge your phone properly because it isn't Apple certified blah blah :stuck_out_tongue: ( or words to that affect )
Unless it's Mfi certified and as a general rule of thumb these aren't worth a carrot.

It's a shame we even need to buy these, if only Apple would give a lightning cable long enough to start with I doubt they'd all end up wrecked!!

Not the iPad 3, just the 4, Airs, minis and Pro.

These are mainly at the branded outlets in Tesco stores.

Good if they work with all versions of the iphone and ipad. However they may stop working with a new version of the operating system. Unlike the previous 30 pin connector (which was just a simple connector), the lightning connector plug contains a mass of apple branded ics, one of the purposes of which is to 'show' the connecting device that it is an apple cable. Updates to the o/s are better at finding 'counterfeit' cables and stop them working. Apple would say that's for your own good

Thanks for that; I've amended my comment in case someone sees it and mistakenly buys a cable - albeit not a wallet destroying amount at a quid!.
Don't know why but I'd always been under the incorrect assumption that the ipad 3 was the first tablet with lightning. I've googled it and since corrected that assumption :stuck_out_tongue:

Try the horribly named JuicEBitz cables on Amazon. Good quality cables, reasonably priced (but more than a quid). Just occasionally it helps to have charging cables which disconnect the data lines as some phones charge faster that way - in which case you need a PoratPow cable, but they're rather more expensive.

Bought a few for my previous iPhone 5 worked for abit and then the charge was very slow. Don't know if the lead caused the battery on the phone to fail

The idea here is to try your local Tesco stores.. No-one suggested that you drive 130 miles to save get a cable for a quid. That would be crazy..

The iPad 3 was the first with Retina Display - bit of an oddball device as it was incredibly short-lived as well (think it was down to the processor being underpowered for the hardware and then the 4 came out). But yes, not exactly going to break the bank if you do mistakenly buy one!

It's interesting Tesco are pricing for a £1. I sell the exact same product at work for 59p!!! The only issue with these is when it's sold out you'll be waiting for a while for stock to come back

I bought 2 of these a few months back... They both broke within weeks...
