It does, you just need to go into Poweramp's settings and tick a box about metadata intent. It isn't the best smartwatch (No I don't know which one is!), true, but for £50 I think it has enough pluses to make me keep mine.

Mine arrived yesterday from Amazon - opened box to find a battered secondhand watch inside!! With the infamous screen fault. Although it appeared factory reset, it had the previous owners bluetooth settings in. Hello 'Nige' I have your broken watch!
Chatted with amazon who said they were now out of stock (black model) so would have to offer me a refund. They have now said I can keep the broken watch if I want and they will refund me £20. Currently checking with pebble to see if they will replace under warranty. If not it will have to go back. Thanks Amazon! Time wasters .. I will check out to see if I can get one from Argos now.

Send it back. Even for £20, it's not worth having a broken watch... Even if you get it replaced by Pebble, who know what you would get.
Very surprised by Amazon, though

What a disappointment this watch was!
Ordered one initially on Saturday that was a) delivered to the wrong flat and I had to hunt it down, 2) in a damaged box and 3) clearly used (not new). To Amazon's credit they immediately dispatched a replacement. This arrived today but the display has a giant black splodge in the top right corner when the backlight is on!
Setup was fairly straightforward and it feels fairly nice, but the the watch itself is just too fiddly with too many shortcomings. You really have to squeeze the watch to press the buttons, the charger doesn't latch onto the watch very tightly, I didn't realise there was such a small app allowance (8 max) and that music controls only worked properly with Android Player (doesn't work with Poweramp). So I won't be getting another replacement when the faulty replacement goes back to Amazon.
It's definitely good for the price, it's just not for me.

Some of the issues you've had are certainly Amazon's and not the watch, it also sounds like the second model was faulty too so definitely send it back.
I don't find the watch fiddly at all, though it does take a little getting used to but I certainly don't have to squeeze the buttons - another fault?! The charger is fiddly though and has been a minor complaint from day one.
The watch can install almost unlimited apps with the latest update, download the Pebble Time app on your phone to install it. You're looking at a day one OS and the Pebble OS has had some major updates since then, so some of your other complaints may also be solved.

Mine arrived earlier this morning, and so far I'm impressed for the price. I had a Moto 360 for a short time, but ended up selling it for 2 reasons - weak vibration motor that I never felt when out walking, and I was always accidentally pressing & holding the touchscreen when my arms were folded (which started messing around the watch faces!)
Fortunately there's no such issues yet with the Pebble... vibration motor is much stronger and there's no touchscreen to accidentally activate! Navigation is simple with the 4 navigation buttons.
Right, time to seek out some handy apps...

if you wanted to get her a pebble watch and money isn't an issue, you could always go for a pebble time or pebble time round. just bear in mind the pebble time round doesn't have the battery life that the others in the range do as it'll only last you around 2 days, but the dimensions would probably be small enough.
but then, to be fair, i can't see how the pebble time would be that huge on a woman's wrist though.

I've got the classic like this one and absolutely love it. Just wanted to mention some other things I love besides the ones other have mentions.
The vibration on this watch is strong so you will not miss notifications
Some watch faces can display weather (current/forecast) which is really useful
It's perfect to test the waters to see if you need a smartwatch or not
There are some really useful apps such as über and transport ones
One thing I absolutely love is the way the screen is always on so you can glance down and look at the time. I know other watches have motion activated screen on but nothing beats having a screen on constantly without reducing battery life!
The silent alarm where it just vibrates is great if you don't wake up well to alarm clock sounds and doesn't wake others up

25 Mar 161#51
It's a wristwatch (some of us didn't grow up thinking that Apple invented the clock when they invented telephony with the iPhone).
And does fitbit type things. So at this price it's on a par with that.
And the NSA get the stuff direct from your phone so they don't need a pebble to do it.

Treat yerself! Got one in Currys for £50 at Xmas, just to try smartwatches. Well worth it: Battery lasts 5 days (charge and forget for nearly a week), waterproof (so swim and shower like a trooper), control music player on phone within Bluetooth range (in shower too!), use Unified Remote app to control presentations, videos, music etc. (blows their minds- he's doing that from his watch!), track sleep and activity (loosely but interesting nonetheless), the list goes on and on.
Oh and 'Drunk O'Clock' swears at you while telling the time! My fave watchface.

Sorry to ask basic questions but what does this actually do? Reviews and spec sheets are surprisingly light on detail.
I want it to use as a sleep tracker with Sleep As Android but does it also do fitbit style things such as step counting? I'm not bothered about email notification and all that.
swfarrington to ultrak3wl
25 Mar 16#48
I use Misfit on it which is a step counter and sleep tracker which integrates with bounts. I do use for the notifications even though I didn't think it was going to be a big thing for me. And as I stated early on in the thread, I'm used to wearing a watch to tell the time which it does fine and the screen is always on (it uses an eInk approach like the Kindles).
If you've got strava or runkeeper on your phone and you use your phone to record workouts the information gets displayed on the watch.

Pebble is still the best and most intuitive. I bought a LG Watch Urbane which looks a bit better but its a mess to use because it trys to do too much all at once. Went back to my original pebble quick. Turns out buttons are much better than a silly little touch screen.

whats the difference from this one and the other pebble watch posted at £100? anyone know
stevebarrett86 to draeburn78
25 Mar 16#39
The £100 one (pebble time) is colour screen (and screen is supposed to be tougher? ), has microphone so can send text replies (but not answer calls) that you dictate rather than just canned (preset up) ones and some other voice control functions, plus has better health/fitness integration and function. I have original Pebble and am very please with it. Was tempted by the Pebble Time offer for the voice control/texting but ultimately couldn't justify spending another £100 just for that (will wait to see what deals come around in 6 months or so on Android Wear watches).
To the person asking about whether it works with Samsung Galaxy phones I am using Galaxy S4 and no issues. Bluetooth range is about 20 -25 feet (plenty enough to leave phone in kitchen and move around house and not miss notifications). I would recommend this as a first Smartwatch especially with Android phone (and to be honest I think it's about the best with iPhone despite some limitations compared to Android without spending silly money)

I was in the 'what's the point of smartwatches' camp until when this offer was on before Christmas. Got myself one and then one for my brother as I was stuck for ideas for his Christmas present. We're both converts to it now.
Never managed such dizzy battery life as in the blurb the OP has posted but regularly get 5+ days. I use misfit as a step counter, and combined with the Bounts integration and the fact my job involves a lot of walking, I'm quickly building up points on that system which convert into vouchers.

Same here, bought one as a present, which turned into one for myself as I was so impressed and now the recipient of my gifted watch has brought one for his sister. I'm tempted to buy another as a present to store up and one as a back up, just in case I smash my one up.
As for the battery life, I was getting 4-5 days until the most recent update when it shot up. I've been using the watch apps a lot less, which may help but it's still impressive. The best app I've found so far is Uber, ordering a taxi from your watch makes you feel like Michael Knight - almost.

Bought one for this price before Xmas, well worth the money. Find it so natural to receive notifications on my wrist now.
