It's pretty expensive but probably one of the better deals you're ever likely to get if in the market for one. By comparison, the smaller pro announced today is £499 from Apple so this seems better value in my opinion. Hope it helps someone. :)

128gb model is also available for £663 with £145 back in points which is cheaper than buying the 32gb Pro from Apple direct ;)

Which pro? 9.7 inch or 12.9 inch?

Says the brainwashed Microsoft fan above!.

Windows 10 is a massive step in the wrong direction for PCs. Unlike you, here's some proof to back up my claims:

http://www.theinquirer.net/inquirer/news/2449298/windows-10-is-now-the-second-most-popular-desktop-operating-system

Windows 7 - the best Microsoft Operating System by far - not this Windows 10 tablet O/S nonsense.

Looks life Apple fans are brainwashed. For £600 you can get a decent Surface. With IOS you ll never get the level of functionality or a windows os. Yes, it is not flawless but it has 90% of the market. But apple fans only want nice polished design

Just sent an email to pixel and they seem just as perplexed. They have asked me to send them the serial number so they can chase up the supplier.

Mine shows that the warranty expires on the 30th Dec 2016, it also shows that the free 90 days telephone complimentary services has expired

From a legal point of view, there's certainly an obligation of the seller to replace or refund.. But going through Apple would very likely be faster. Probably a 72 hour turnaround.

On the other hand, Apple's replacement would be a refurb. Not sure I'd be happy with that, if I paid for brand new.

I stand by it; in my humble opinion Windows 10 is another fail as a Windows desktop PC o/s. Windows 7 ain't broke so god knows why they felt they needed to fix, first with the abysmal Windows 8 and then the better but still maligned Windows 10.

The difference between me and that other chap is I'm not going to give anyone abuse for disagreeing with me and stating that they like Windows 10. Everyone is different and it'd be a dull world if we all thought the same.

Mate. You do realised you've typed this for the whole world to see?
That Windows 10 has gone "back" to the traditional start menu style of 7 without it being full screen like Win8?
You do appreciate the miracle that is the WinRT underpinnings of now Xbox, PC and Phone? (And what an amazing software engineering feat that is?)

Go ahead and sl4g off that anti Apple plonker, that's all fair game.
But to then do exactly the same thing minutes later... that's mad. Besides if you really do think Win7 is better than Win10 - then they do a very white jacket that does up at the back for you

You do realise that source doesn't prove sh*t... All it says that Windows 10 is the second most popular OS. Nowhere does it state that it is a step backwards. If you really want to see why people have not upgraded to Windows 10 and therefore why windows 7 is better, you have to ask Windows 7 users

But with that level of functionality comes a need for a higher level of technical competence.

I prefer W10 to iOS, I prefer the Surface line to the iPad line BUT I still recognise that my needs differ from my wife's or my kids. I need access to File Explorer, I need access to GoG and Steam and I need access to a printer. My wife on the other hand just needs to download Netflix and iPlayer. The more options you give her the greater the liklihood she is going to screw things up or need my help.

Just because someone like's a different product doesn't mean they are brainwashed, that product just suits their needs sufficiently that they don't need to look elsewhere.

Your maths is nearly as bad as your English. The item was £725. That's how much I paid. I then got £25.37 back as Quidco and £145 back as credit to spend at Rakuten. 725-25.37-145=554.63. 799-554.63=244.37. Sorry if it's confusing.
qwerta369
22 Mar 16 1 #30
I bought an iPad Pro 128gb from Pixel Electronics via Rakuten a couple of months back. I paid £725 less £25.37 Quidco (already paid out) less £145 to spend at Rakuten (14,500 points already received and spent) = £554.63 total, for an item that is £799 everywhere else. A whopping £244.37 saving.

A point to note - the device I received was brand new and sealed, but it was a Malaysia grey import. It's identical to UK stock and comes with a UK plug (the standard in Malaysia). Full 1 year international warranty with Apple. Eligible to buy AppleCare to extend warranty if required.

Pixel Electronics are themselves a UK company based somewhere down south, as I recall. They were quick to reply to emails and rushed my order as I needed it fast, without charging me extra and were very helpful. Big thumbs up!
splender to qwerta369
22 Mar 16 #37
You did not saved "A whopping £244.37 saving". You saved just £25.37 Quidco . The £145 is extra, meaning you paid out £725, saved £25 for £725+£145= £870 worth of goods i.e. 17% discount (£145/£870). Don't know where you got the £799 , Apple stores sells £719 for 128GB model, check for yourself now again.

been looking for ipad pro for a while as my battery on my old ipad 3 is done. £663 with voucher IPADS applied, then 145 worth of points to spend and £20 odd quid from topcashback brings this to just under £500 if rakuten points taken into consideration. When sold on apple for £799 how can this not be smoking hot.

I own an ipad and it does everything I need on a mobile device, and it does it really well. Plus it's three years old and still works absolutely perfectly... Even the battery lasts well over a day! I've been using it for half an hour with the brightness down, and it hasn't even budged from 100%. Now THATS impressive!
If I need something more flexible, I use my PC, simple.

Other than Windows RT, that's totally true.

Subjective indeed, MS forced the Win10 update on my machine and I had to roll it back due to massive performance degradation, I knew why but I can imagine the frustration for people not IT savvy. If iPad and tablets are so popular in general it's people don't want to be bothered with PCs

Honestly, "the best OS" is a very subjective thing. I like Windows 10 far more than Windows 7. Why the updates are not happening is the fact that most people don't want to bother to update something that works well and just want an "out of the box experience", an emphasis on most of course. Also with it being advertised as "free" people don't want to buy it. Honestly I find it to be the best windows so far, simply because they polished it before release, I updated/installed on about 5 PC's and it works flawlessly.

Also if you have a touch enabled device it is far better than Windows 7 and simply said it is often faster and simpler to use the touch screen rather than the mouse (I have laptops in mind here).

About the ads and tracking issue, you are welcome to disable everything...

Also Surface has no "tablet" version of Windows but the full one as any laptop and that is far more usable than a mac in the term of available software and not even comparable to ios.

My point is the new smaller iPad pro currently better value. Better specs: camera, display,... 169£ cheaper than the bigger one.

Brilliant piece of kit, with the pencil it can replace more expensive drawing tablets, just for that it's worth it

Oh and before you get on that high horse; yes it's done well out of the gate getting so much take up...but let's not forget...they had to give it away free.

I bet Linux fans are laughing their socks off :stuck_out_tongue:

Says the brainwashed Microsoft fan above!.

Windows 10 is a massive step in the wrong direction for PCs. Unlike you, here's some proof to back up my claims:

http://www.theinquirer.net/inquirer/news/2449298/windows-10-is-now-the-second-most-popular-desktop-operating-system

Windows 7 - the best Microsoft Operating System by far - not this Windows 10 tablet O/S nonsense.

this is amazing deal! How can I use the Rakuten points? Can I buy a ipad pen?

Chanchi's comment below explains it better but yes, you can buy the pen as long as it's for sale on Rakuten

Looks life Apple fans are brainwashed. For £600 you can get a decent Surface. With IOS you ll never get the level of functionality or a windows os. Yes, it is not flawless but it has 90% of the market. But apple fans only want nice polished design

22 Mar 16 1 #6
That's a shame... Plenty of cases available for them mind so could put the points towards one of those

Unfortunately, either pencil or keyboard cover is for sale on Rakuten.
But still, smoking HOT deal!
